Last week the Tech poster here told us the defense is stout.

Couple that with Moore being hurt, WRs-Nuss not connecting on game changing plays and you get 23 points.

This offense will figure it out this week

If I'm looking at this right, Tech was 12th last year in total defense and like 26th in scoring defense. Yeah yeah I know it was against small schools, but still. Chill

Regardless of competition, they were well-coached and came in with a good plan and executed it well. They played their asses off and never fully wore down.

It should not have been a 23-7 game. Our O-line should have had a push. Our WR’s should have had more separation. That being said it probably isnt a reason for doom and gloom yet.

Tech beat Southeastern 24-0. If LSU struggles with them, then they have serious problems.

Nearly every team in D1 has players in the NFL. Tech currently has 4 defenders in the NFL and at times in the last 10-15 years has had as many as 15 players on active NFL rosters back when Holtz and Dykes were there. For reference today, Mississippi State has 13 players on active rosters in the NFL. Vanderbilt has 7.

So saying no player on Tech's defense would start in the SEC is silly when a down Tech team still puts players in the league.

Tech won't win many games this year because they are not going to be able to score on anyone, but that defense would be a problem in any league.

Assuming the rankings he posted are accurate, what exactly is he manipulating?

Exactly. It's pretty factual data. Yeah its last years data, but it's the best I could find to use.

Agreed....would it have been better with Moore in? Probably. How much? Probably not much better but a little.

The thing you can say is we missed several opportunities in the passing game including in the first series a play that should have been a TD turned INT because it was underthrown by 10 yards.

Nuss missed several other passes and there were a couple of drops. Hit on those and even with the run struggles we probably should have had about 34 points are more.

I’ve been saying that too many are overreacting to our play against them. I was disappointed that our OLine never wore them down, even late in the game. I watched LaTech multiple games last year, and they would be great defensively for 3 quarter, but eventually wear down late due to pathetic offense.

They have an Elite D.

Very well coached and will probably win the league

Neither of those teams have guys who would start for SEC teams

LSU should have played better, but Tech didn't make it easy on them.

That's funny because Tech puts guys in the NFL all the time and our best corner last year was an SLU transfer.
