Bet you didn't know that Kyren's grandfather (his mom's dad) committed suicide as well? Kyren was in Houston with his mom because he had been suicidal for weeks after his arrest. The family had taken his car keys away so that they could keep an eye on him at all times because they knew he was having suicidal thoughts. He was trying to do the act in his mom's house. When she tried to intervene & called the police for help is when shot in the ground demanding the car keys back. He DID NOT shoot at his mom or was it an attempt to harm her. He was at his breaking point & didn't want anyone stopping him from taking his life that night.
