Kwon was very special, but we dont know if he was necessarily better. Welter also started over Beckwith under Chavis. Not trying to be a troll, but I feel we have something special in Debo and people dont recognize it

I agree. I just can't comment on Deion in 2015 because he hasn't played. Kwon was better the last three years though.

damn, that's the definition of lit up!

yeah, we gonna miss him.

On Debo... super fluid for a LB, I think the combination of a couple years now and Steele will make full use of him. This is his year to shine. I do agree he lacks some killer instinct, especially when it comes to engaging blocks and stuffing plays as close to LoS as possible. But he knows how to get after a QB however.

LB core is gonna be mediocre this year. Beck is a stud, but that's it.

I see it. Been waiting to see more of him and have not understood why he hasn't been seeing more playing time.

You couldn't come up with a batter adjective than "killed"? Thought Kwon was in legal trouble for a second.

He looks like he put on a lot of weight. He's going to be very good in the NFL. He was a beast for us and if not for a leg injury in high school probably would've been a 5* or close to it.

Fantastic football player. Wish the saints had him.

You are too used to LSU not having a lb coach.

I'm not real privy to NFL rules, but was that not targeting? I'm definitely a fan of hits like that, but it seemed kind of helmet-to-helmet to me.

No. McCown left the pocket making himself a runner. There is no such thing as a foul for targeting or helmet to helmet on a runner. That rule only applies for QBs inside the pocket & for receivers in the process of making a catch. Once a receiver catches the ball & makes a football move, he is also considered a a runner.

The hit looked fine to me in real speed. That's what the refs see, they don't watch it over and over. The initial contact didn't appear to be helmet to helmet.

Manziel is already sidelined with elbow problems himself.

quote:

Browns coach Mike Pettine said Thursday that Manziel, who has made strides in his second year in the NFL after a rough rookie season, will not play in Cleveland's last two exhibition games because of lingering soreness in his right elbow. The injury has bothered him for two weeks and is more serious than initially thought.

Manziel will miss Saturday's game at Tampa Bay as well as Cleveland's preseason finale at Chicago on Sept. 3. Pettine said the plan had been for Manziel to play against the Buccaneers starters in the second quarter, and for a half against the Bears.
