Agreed. He’s not the long term answer but overall has done a really nice job. Very likeable guy as well.

Sadly, with this Administration in charge at LSU, it's extremely dangerous to compliment the interim coaches with their horrible, previous head coaching records. This administration is dumb enough to just hire them outright.

I get the sentiment; however, I completely disagree.

This man has given everything to LSU this year, and he was ready to step up and keep the players focused and prepared after Alleva's and FKing's mistakes. He deserves the credit for this. I don't care about his previous coaching record when i think about his work to this point.

Now, I do not think he is the long term answer if it comes to that. I just can keep the two things separate and do not care if Alleva or FKing can.

He’s exceeded my expectations for a team in this situation.

Fair enough.

I'm just hesitant to give TB any credit because of the short-sighted, reactionary history of LSU's Administration despite the fact that TB probably deserves some credit.

Sad situation for the fans when they're fearful of even complementing assistant coaches.

Another plus for Will Wade, hiring competent assistants. Johnny Jones couldn't even draw up a play himself as LSU coach.

Give that man a long term contract. He has earned it.

How so???

In what game has he not been shown to be a SIGNIFICANT liability?

We know why you don't like him.

You mean when have we not given up a lead like we have all year long. Seems to be about the same. He has done well keeping it together.

When have we not had a big lead and it went away this season? With or without Wade, it’s the same.

None of that is Benford's fault or has anything to do with him. He inherited a shite sandwich of a situation and has managed to keep us alive under some not so ideal circumstances. He deserves credit for keeping their spirits up and focused, especially given the absolute worst possible timing for everything to drop. Giving him credit for keeping the team together and motivated is not also saying he's a good coach or some sort of long-term solution.

If you couldn't see that we had an inability to attack a very simple 2-3 zone...a defense that Maryland only threw at us because nothing else was working (it wasn't their bread and butter), then I don't know what to tell you.

I'm ok with you suggesting that Benford is as good of a coach as Wade. I disagree (and I don't think Wade is a great Xs and Os coach).

Have that opinion if you want.
