Chuckie
Just an FYI, they didn’t handpick Kori. As an 8th Grader last year she led her White Castle team to the playoffs with averages of 21pts, 10rebs, 7assts and 5 steals per game and garnering 2nd Team All State as an 8TH GRADER.

The decision was made by her father to enroll her at Southern Lab for her to play better competition and challenge her both academically and athletically.
And it has been well worth it. Kori is playing her role on this team and that is as a defensive stalwart. I would venture to say her role will increase as time goes on.

Coach Chaney was absolutely SHOCKED when she found out Kori was going to play for her. And she is easing her and not rushing her to get acclimated to her new teammates. But one thing she knows is Kori can guard anybody at the PG/SG or SF position and it doesn’t matter what level of high school ball the opponent is playing.

There was an article on Jada & LCA posted on The Acadiana Advocate today. Should be an article in the near future on LCA & Jada on SB Live Louisiana. .

Thanks, mdomingue, definitely proud and anxious to see how she progress in the future. She definitely has a very bright future. Just to add a lil tidbit, as an 8th Grader she was also All District last year in Track. She runs the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 relay.

I'm here at the Southern Lab vs. Northwood-Lena rematch.

I think I mistakenly referred to Lab as the defending champion a time or two. Northwood-Lena actually trying to win three straight.

I think Lab will win. It's 4-4 early 1st

Would that be two titles in three years for the Kittens? Lab won D IV and Northwood-Lena won Class 1A two years ago?

Lena beat SL last year.

SL won it in 2022. Lena also won it 2022 as a non select.

Neither won it in 2021 or 2020.

Thanks Clean,
It got kind of chippy a lil bit at the end. This offseason with Kori, we will get in the “Lab” (gym) and sharpen her offensive game. Being this was her first year at Lab, she was hesitant on the offensive side, and just wanted to figure out what her role was with her new teammates.

Look for a more explosive offensive player beginning next season.
