Does anyone know why Mic Paul hasn’t been given a shot at all in the OF?

I have faith in Kling. He has the tools, just lacks confidence. Jay is sticking with him for good reason.

Was driving to Texas last night and had the game on in the truck. Looked like Kling had smoked that granny to left. Wind must have been blowing fierce from northwest.

Watching with a group last night there was a lot of conversation about this. This and he just doesn’t seem to be seeing the ball very well.

Kling is still pulling off everything and making himself vulnerable to anything on the outer 3rd, hell, maybe the outer half and any off-speed pitch from a RHP. He runs out of bat. Right now he can only barrel up mistakes--fastballs on the inner half or hung breaking balls. Luckily a lot of college pitchers make mistakes. But not all will. Somebody like Luke Holman would absolutely carve Kling up right now. I hope he makes the adjustments. I'm sure he's trying, and I know it takes time if he's been hitting this way his whole life. Hopefully it clicks.

But I'm not all that "relieved" because he hit a couple mistakes hard last night and Tuesday combined. When he lets a fastball on the outer half travel and bangs it off the right-center wall, that's when I'll get really excited. Because this team needed him to step up and be a bigger part of the run production to help make up for all they lost. So far he hasn't. But there's still time. I have faith.

His swing speed has to be top 3. I think he should slow it down and try to make more contact . He’s not going to be a homerun hitter that it appears he wants to be.

It will be the first time that Kling was the man. Just haven’t seen it from him.
