Dooley having an extra guy on the field saved miles his job .

and jarett lee completing a 4th and 16 on that drive to TT. without that the game is over. without the UNC TE dropping the winning TD pass that game is over. without Lee leading us to game winning drive at UF and the fade TD pass to TT that game is over. JJ was trash that game. easily 5 losses that year and miles woulda been fired. shaw group said as much. I have already outlined it earlier in another thread. it woulda been his 3rd straight ZOok like season which is a fireable offense.

Or Wisconsin, or any of the other four teams he was losing to by the end of his time here.

It took about 10 years too long but they finally did it.

Realistically speaking, he was making between $2 million and $3 million annually during his final years at ND. Doesn’t matter if neither of these articles are exactly right. That salary range is the most plausible

From your own article:

quote:

Notre Dame paid Brian Kelly north of $3 million during the 2020 season, federal tax documents show, although the total sum of the head football coach’s compensation was likely much higher than that

I don't know which of your takes is more ridiculous.

The fact that you actually believe Notre Dame was paying its head coach between $2-3 million in 2021 or that LSU gave him over a $6 million raise.

He has a contract buyout of $100 million. That kind of money will easily make someone complacent if they weren’t super driven in the first place.

That was the day it was signed. It’s still a lot, but it isn’t $100 million anymore.

If Kelly was only in it for the check, he probably wouldn’t have given $1 million back to the Athletic Dept twice to promote fundraising.
