Not long ago, any American held captive by a foreign nemesis would draw outrage among all Americans.
So she has an alternative lifestyle.
All coaches have to answer questions ad-nauseum. It’s part of the gig. A gig she has had for decades. I haven’t heard a genuine response to my question. Why not be gracious?

This is completely false. There are Americans around the world in dozens of foreign prisons that no one gives a shite about because they are criminals and broke the laws of the countries they are in.
If I could waive a magic wand and Griner would go free, then I would do it. But otherwise, my give-a-shite meter is extremely low on this case.
I've known since watching Midnight Express in 1978 that you should never bring illegal drugs into a foreign country.

Just guessing here, but Griner had probably been doing that same thing and getting away with it every time she went over there, probably under the assumption that [small amount + doctor's note + basketball star] = no big deal even if she got caught.
This time, she foolishly tried this move during the run up to the war when security was very tight and had the misfortune of encountering a drug dog, who busted her immediately. Bad luck, horrendous judgment, and never mess with drug dogs lol.

This has nothing to do with politics. At least it never did in our past. You think the Russians are playing fair? You a fan of Vlad?
