I don’t take much away from the defensive performance but I was impressed with Sam today. He’s clearly developing.

I agree, Sam is getting better and better. There were decades we would have prayed for a QB as good as Leavitt.

People talked shite about Sam's play, but he's clearly coming around after missing spring. It was always going to take a little time with him because of missing so much time with his Elizabeth Frank injury.

That said, one thing you can't talk shite about him is his toughness. He's been one tough SOB this year. He's taken some hard hits and bounced right back up. Playing with a fricked up hamstring and still playing really well. Much better than many QBs would be playing with that injury.

I sure as shite appreciate his toughness. I wholeheartedly believe if he comes back and we can get better line play next year, that he'll have us competing for a title. I'd say that even if it was still just a 12 team playoff next year instead of 24.

Get him more time with Lane, and upgrade his OL.

Minus the one overthrow that just happened to be picked off a tip, his passing has been excellent the last two weeks. Take out the egregious fumble last week and he has been excellent overall the last few weeks.

He's a better passer when he can't resort to the run right away.

Maybe we should somehow hobble him if he gets too healthy.

I took a lot from the defensive performance today. The main thing is that our safeties have horrible instincts on inside runs. Always choosing the wrong gaps to fill.
