Anyone that doesn’t understand the point I’m making is dumb. You can recruit high schoolers and also use the transfer portal. Only the low IQ posters here have trouble grasping that concept.

You're right, Ole Miss is a title contender and that's why they flipped Cunningham. LSU doesn't have any elite recruits committed because they aren't viewed that way

What are you talking about?
Shhhhhhhhhhhh! Fan narratives don't get questioned here!

To me Kelly's approach is fine he just needs to get some studs out of the portal.
Build the program through great recruiting but when game changing players are in the portal you have to make a run at them.

Let me break this down for you. I'll use your own posts to do it.

Meanwhile A&M and Ole Miss are in the playoff hunt because they don’t have an antiquated dumb view of college football.
quote:
Did you see how Ole Miss just flipped a 5 star wr from bama? They’re also about to flip Devin Harper, I’m sure you know who that is. A huge reason those guys are flipping is because ole Miss is now viewed as a program that can compete for titles. The reason ole miss is competing for titles is because they attacked the portal.

If your point is that LSU doesn't attack the portal like Ole Miss does and Ole miss is viewed as a title contender/is able to flip or commit elite players because of their willingness to attack the portal, how do you explain LSU having better recruits than Ole Miss does currently?

You left out Zavion, who has been a weapon at return man for us as well as CJ Daniels, who has been really good for our offense until he got injured. Also, the guy who got the massive NIL deal in Damonic Williams has a grand total of 1 sack this season.

BK has said that he will use the portal as needed. This year we need:
QB (If Nuss leaves) until Underwood is ready
O linemen
LB
DB's (Maybe a spring pickup)

I don't disagree.
Word is that Nuss planned on staying for two years from jump. That means, imo priority number 1 should be experience on the Offensive Line. You're talented but really green there.
Then I'd like to see them take BPA at Safety.
LB I think you're okay at with what you've recruited.
I wouldn't hate another receiver as well.

Again you’re making up crap that doesn’t exist and putting words in my mouth that I never said. I’m really starting to question your intelligence. What I’m saying is ole Miss used the portal to make their team better, and now that they’re winning more they’re able to be more competitive with high school recruits. I never said ole Miss is a better program than us or is recruiting high school players better. What I said is they’re more competitive with high school recruits because of the way they changed the perception of their football team by winning a lot more. Please show where I said they’re out recruiting us for high schoolers? All I said they flipped high level recruits because they’re actually winning now, and the portal is the main reason why they’re winning. I can’t break it down any simpler than that, if you’re still confused that’s on you.
We’re recruiting high schoolers better because we have way more money for NIL and BK’s staff is filled with top notch recruiters. I’m sure you knew all this because you’re so smart. All I’m saying is BK clearly should’ve gotten more guys in the portal this year, and needs to understand that the portal is important moving forward. For the 5th time, you can have both top rated high school recruiting classes and use the transfer portal. My point is that it doesn’t have to be one or the other.
If you still can’t understand what I’m saying, that’s on you.

I quoted your own posts in this thread

Multiple people in this thread have laughed at your sloppily presented arguments. If more than one person isn't getting the point you're intending to make, perhaps you should articulate your thoughts in a more clear manner.

We've known the point you've tried to make for over a page now. We're making fun of how sloppy your argument is and how you've contradicted yourself on multiple points.

quote:Would we be better with him? Or are we better moving a true freshmen from end to tackle and getting killed by bama for 300 yards rushing? Ahmed Breaux was going to come here regardless of how many transfers we got. So why not get the better player instead of scrambling to get a 280 pound D2 school player like Suggs who can’t stop the run? Are you personally affected if we over pay? Why do fans care so much if we over pay for a position of need? You’d rather lose with slightly more NIL money in the bank than win by overpaying for a position of need?
Damonic Williams
Also sacks is not a good way to tell how good a def tackle is. I can tell you don’t really know what you’re talking about since your using sacks as a measurement for how good an interior def tackle is.
One more stat for the low IQ posters
Total tackles
Williams - 11
Paez - 6
Suggs - 2
Williams has more tackles than paez and Suggs combined. But according to some posters we’re better off saving NIL money instead of slightly overpaying for a position of need. Guess some would rather have bama run for 300 yards than actually win.

Well, the biggest issue with LSU's defense is the safety position, not the defensive line. You really think if LSU had an overpaid Damonic Williams on the line that we would've beaten Alabama?

It's a metric, not the only metric. And yes, if I'm paying close to 2 million dollars for an interior defensive lineman, I want more than just 1 sack. You don't allocate that much of your NIL dollars to a block eater inside so no, 2 mil for 1 sack and 1.5 tackles a game is not a good ROI.

Yes, I'd rather spread that money to 2-3 players than breaking the bank on one guy who isn't particularly special on the interior.

This stats are out date
Tackles
William 26
Paez 17
Suggs 9
TFL
Williams 4
Paez 2.5
Suggs 2.5
Sacks
Williams 1
Paez 1
Suggs 2.5
For what the guys is being paid, he is barely outperforming the bargain bin guys.

100% agree. 2 million bucks for an interior d lineman better get me a Nagurski, Bednarik caliber player. Damonic aint that.

We need 2 or 3 OL. Underwood will be ready to start as a true freshman imo. 1 LB who has good speed. 1 true X-WR. 2 safeties who know how to tackle and play their assignments. And maybe an EDGE since we are losing Swinson and possibly Jones as well.

people forget that the NIL collective needs to find people to pay this money
Somewhere there is an OU booster that’s going to think twice the next time he’s asked for $500k to help buy a player that’s being pitched as a game changer.
