Kelly first season is a win. What more could we expect?

Going into Kelly first season I thought to myself I would love for that Bama game to have implications for the SEC west and knew we’d have to beat a few good teams to get there.

Losing to FSU week 1 and then following it up with 4 straight wins was very important and impressive considering two were in the SEC (MSST, AUB).

Coming into the TN game you definitely expected more and it goes terrible. Blown out on home field.
How does Kelly and the boys respond? TWO straight SEC west victories including one over the seventh ranked team in the nation. At 0-1 leaving New Orleans who thought this same team would be playing for the SEC west two months later.

I’m so excited for Kelly and the years to come. He’s a hell of a coach.

I expect 3 more wins and a competitive game vs Bama.

If the O/U was 7, a win vs UAB will only give you a push. You need a win over UAB and one more. I took LSU at O/U 6.5. That was easy money.

I thought this team would finish 8-4 WITH a win over FSU. Once they lost to FSU I revised my expectations to 7-5 because I thought 5-3 in the SEC would be tough this season. While I'm as excited as anyone about how the season has gone since the FSU loss, the last three SEC games aren't easy. Until LSU beats Alabama at home again I'm just going to assume it isn't going to happen. LSU seems to ALWAYS struggle at Arkansas and you can bet they will be up to play LSU. A&M looks like they are close to packing it in for the year, but on the road where a talent home team has nothing to lose can be a tough spot (ask 5-6 LSU last year when A&M came to BR).

I'm back to believing this group will finish 8-4. Anything above that and you can say Kelly had a very good opening season

Should finish at least 2-2 down the stretch for a solid 8-4 record. I truly believe the imporvement trajectory allows a chance to beat both A&M and Arkansas on the road, which pre-season, I did not think would happen. BAMA is still not in our wheel-house, but stranger things have happened.

My record was 9-3 since spring. I had us 7-1 at this point with a loss to Tennessee. Other 2 losses were Bama and Arkansas. The FSU loss replaces the Arkansas loss and I can't predict a win against Bama no matter how much I want to.

If anybody goes back in my post history, while I did have some QBs wrong, to finish the season, I had Jayden Daniels as my #3 QB in the SEC with Bryce Young at 1 and Hendon Hooker at 2. I believed the hype with Spencer Rattler and those WRs at USCe, and that Anthony Richardson would improve himself after half a year of experience.

In the press conference after the game (Ole Miss) BK pretty emphatically said that TN deserved to win and played better that day but he also went on to say that he thought LSU was the better team that didn't play up to their potential and made mistakes, taking the blame for coaching mistakes as well.

It's not impossible that it ends poorly, but not much. 10-3 after the bowl is very much so on the table, and I would have asked you pass whatever you were taking if you told me that we'd be 10-3 week 0.

And while I'm guessing it won't happen, winning the SEC would be absolutely hilarious and we control our own destiny there.

I enter every game expecting to lose because of our inconsistency. I had 7-5 as the floor and twice this year I didn’t think it would happen.

I think we beat UAB, be competitive against Bama, but lose and then win one of Arkansas and A&M. Most likely win A&M because I feel their starters will quit after another loss before us. We are Arkansas’s Super Bowl and Rocket Sanders is legit.

I don't think anyone saw 6-2 at this point with where the roster was at for the bowl game
And with a chance to beat Ark, A&M and UAB to get to nine wins
Plus you have a night game in Tiger Stadium against Bama with a chance to get the tiebreaker from them
I don't think you can ask for much more in year 1 under Kelly

I’m excited. He’s the first real coach we’ve had since Saban. I’m impressed to see a better disciplined and conditioned team.
