Really, I didnt know ESPN put mics in the student section. I have never, in 30 years, seen or heard cussing from students on any college football broadcast at any school. I'm sure this issue is not just at LSU.

Normally I would tell you to piss off and mind your business.
They (other students in the section, mostly freshman) literally took "suck that tiger D, bitch" and just randomly said it after touchdowns. It was stupid, and tacky.

I disagree. I think you could give 100 or so students the Tiger Stadium death penalty over the course of a couple of weeks, and the message would spread quite easily.

I graduated in 07, and I dont recall hearing them either.
But they did quit playing Tiger Rag after Touchdowns because of Assholes. And I've had many, many former students confirm thats been done for at least 30 years.

It wasn't chanted EVERY time it was played.
I want to say, I first recall hearing it directed toward refs after a few especially crappy calls. This would have been in the '80s. It sort of started to snowball in the '90s, when dipshits thought they had to yell it every time.

Hopefully you're right. However people are freaking out over that chant being brought back. If you're right and Earthquake isn't banned, I don't see it lasting much longer at this pace.

Simple, put the students up in the top expansions. hard to hear the vulgarities from there. But if you think you can bring a child to a game in any section without hearing a bunch of drunks cursing the whole time, you are dreaming. In the stadium club or boxes maybe you can control things a little. This is a society issue, not a LSU issue. People have little respect for anything anymore.

TO CLARIFY THE 2002-2007 CHANT ARGUMENT. i didn't miss a game in the student section during that time and we did not have fellatio related chants.

That further adds to the point....the student section is the loudest part of the stadium. I would LOVE for that to come through on TV. But if the profanities continue, they will choose to move the mics elsewhere and that loudness won't be represented.
