We lose either one of these guys and we're hurtin'.

I would argue there's no other players on the team that mean as much to the success of the 2010 Tigers than these 2 (O or D). Everyone other position has serviceable replacements...yes, even the loss of Patrick Peterson doesn't mean as much w/Mathieu as a back-up.

Nevis more important. When we get Baker back will have a little more depth there with Minter.

The DT rotation would be horrendous, especially if Downs limps in and out of the game but losing Sheppard's leadership from him being the Field General would hurt tremendously as well.

Not that the back-up LBs aren't talented, just young with no SEC experience.

i agree. You have to throw PP in this list. Because he is such a great player, not because there aren't decent replacements

If any team loses a key player/leader they will be hurting. Key injuries always hurt any team in football.

Just ask OU last year.

OU lost more than 2 key personnel.

I'm saying that if we lose EITHER one, it could change our season.

QB.

And it's not even close.

Disagree.

If JJ is out, JL steps in (and I realize everyone has an opinion on this but I think we'd be no worse).

If Nevis is out, what's the DT rotation gonna be? If Sheppard's out, show me the experience/leadership at LB.

I like JL as a back up, but I don't see how anyone can just forget his performance in last year's Bama and LaTech game.

I personally don't want the team to have to depend on Lee very much.

Is PP really gonna return kicks and punts? That would be a serious loss if he goes down doing either.

Mathieu is only a freshman, has not proven a thing. PP is the best DB in the nation and the best player on our team. He can shut down every team's best receiver and will be the reason we are the best secondary in the nation. Nothing would hurt our defense more than losing him.

If Minter has the understanding Kelvin says he does we should still have continued leadership with him, Loston, Claiborne, and Baker. I still need to see who will step up along the defensive line, but Montgomery should be the guy there.

in general, i agree with "qb, not even close," as exemplified by 2002 without mauck and 2008 without perilloux (sp?).
this year, however, we s/b fine with either jefferson or lee.

Brockers is in the rotation now and he's going to be a hell of a player, but you cannot replace what Nevis delivers.

Show me the DT rotation w/o Nevis and it'll be obvious.

Colonel Flagg

So there is no way the kid is any better? He came in cold against the best team in the country, then started the next week with an exhausted team, but sucks because he didn't throw for 300 yards.

I hope no starters get hurt, but JL is just as capable as JJ. You are a dick.

If LSU can't find an athlete to return Punts & Kicks, we're in trouble. Our team is not "wanting" for capable P/K returners.

Shep, PP and Nevis would all hurt equally in my view. PP is the best player but has a bit more depth backing him up. Shep is the captain of the defense. It would be interesting to see if Brockers and Davenport stepped up if Drake misses time.
