because he was an in-state kid that was a standout as a sophmore. He should have had an offer as a JR and everyone saw it but Les Miles.

Maybe he would've first week in October. We'll never know.

of course it’s not. You are so transparent.

It's not the same. You have an in-state kid that would have committed to LSU as a JR, that was not being pursued by the likes of Alabama, etc at that time.

You have out of state Surtain that waited until signing day, when a new hard cap of 25 scholarships was implemented, putting LSU in a tough situation as the clock counted down. Going against Alabama in his recruitment.

they had people standing on the table for the kid. From the horses mouth, Miles was the ultimate decision maker. This isn't very hard.

In the scenario, Etienne is Goodrich and Akers is Surtain, and it's nearly identical.

We slowplayed Goodrich because we thought Surtain was coming.

We slowplayed Etienne because we thought Akers was coming.

In both situations, we targeted the higher rated player while putting the lower rated player on the back burner. In both situations, we lost out on both players.

Silly me for thinking these two situations are similar.

Broad statements such as this, when the little details matter, is just pure ignorant.

Etienne was ready to commit as a Jr.

the other situation was not decided until the whole class was locked up.

You mean like saying Miles fricked it up while ignoring the fact that LSU had a RB committed and chose to go after the higher rated prospect remaining on the board.

I think you're right. That is ignorant.

These aren’t broad statements, it’s how both situations played out. Etienne was offered on December 27th, the day Akers committed to FSU. Goodrich was offered on December 7th after it became obvious that Bama was in the conversation to flip Surtain.

I guess Etienne's dad, coach and Justin Vincent all talk out of their arse too.

This must also be Miles' fault.

My only point is, Miles's track record with running backs speaks for itself. Really tough to lay blame on him for a recruiting cycle he wasn't allowed to see through to the end. If you're looking at this reasonably I don't see how you could have a problem with that.

Maybe if the master recruiter Miles brought in in 2015 and was made recruiting coordinator that offseason was arguing for TE hard enough the ADPP wouldn’t have had to resort to such tactics.

Assuming this happened at all and JV isn't just trying to earn points to cover for his current HC and toot his own horn in the process

ETA: Why doesn’t someone that tweets hit him back and ask how he felt about Akers?

Or you can just post it here yourself, JV. We all know you’re bellied up in this thread like it’s Bogie’s back in the day
