Lee should be the starting quarterback anyway. JJ will not be able to perform due to the off field distractions.
And lets face it, he wasn't a star performer last year. Give Lee the job until he proves he can't perform. Then put JJ in to run the offence.

I would venture to say that 90% of the "suspend them now" crowd base that opinion on a similar perspective as the above quote.

JJ should have been the starter. But does anyone believe there will be distractions that could cause problems on the playing field?

If you knew what really happened and that your started wasn't in trouble, would you tip your hand so that Oregon knew who to prepare for ?

Preparing for a running QB is much different than a non-running QB. Think about it people.

So what are you saying?

If you have ever been a quarterback at any level, you would know what I am saying here. He must concentrate his efforts on the game. Not on the distractions that come along with the situation. And yes there was a fight. Even at his best, I don't find JJ to be much better than Lee. But then again, we all have opinions.

You took my post and made it 'pre-fight' like Miles had planned for the fight to take place.
I'm saying ... (read it again)... why would he force the issue with the media/public information when the question is more advantageous than the answer.

Here's a sig quote opp for you....

Jordan Jefferson was not involved in the fight, will start against Oregon and will face no charges related to the fight.

If you have ever played sports at any level, then you would understand that the fight won't cross JJ's mind for even a second in the OU game. The only distraction that might occur is during preparation, so fortunately we have coaches who get to evaluate him during practice. And as long as they start him, we can only assume that they believe his prep level is where it needs to be.

I think your playing QB in your Church's co-ed flag football league is a little different than playing QB in Div. I.

Cam Newton had a shitload of off the field distractions last year.

Should Auburn have benched him because the investigation was too distracting?

And no, I'm not saying JJ is remotely as talented as Cam Newton. Just saying the distraction argument is silly.

No, I was a quarterback along time ago. A quarterback has to be capable of knowing where everyone is before every play. He must make on the spot adjustments and decisions. JJ does not need this on his mind. Unless you played the position, you have no idea what is involved. I'm not talking about playing golf or soccer. This is a position where you control the action. But you still have to be a leader.

And I am not talking about video games. Grow up.

Don't put Cam Newton and JJ in the same paragraph. There is no comparison.

Lee played very well when he was allowed to last year. I don't believe he is the same flustered freshman soul who threw 6 pick sixes. I like his accuracy when he steps forward and he delivered well for LSU when called on.

I don't believe you ever played QB at any significant level - significant level meaning varsity high school or higher.

Second, there are countless examples who have played above their normal level when distractions are abound.

People react differently to different stimuli.

I was a high school quarterback. Not at this level. And I will never claim to be. But I love how you assume you know all things from what you have seen or heard. You have never met me, but you assume I am a lier. You surely show no common sense. But I can understand, you never were anthlete, just an athletic supporter. Thats ok, even cheerleaders like yourself have a small, very small knowledge of being in a leadrership position. Hopefully you will continue to learn about life an the sport from others experiences.

I assume that the vast majority of former quarterbacks don't jump on an anonymous message board declaring their in-depth knowledge of the position.

You got it all wrong. I was the alternate captain of the sixth grade quiz bowl team.

JJ gives us an advantage Lee does not have with his ability to run and obtain first downs. That being said unless JJ tears it up Lee still deserves his shot.

That is the key. But on a 5 or 7 step drop if the receiver isn't open on time he panics and throws off his back foot. Watch the games where he played well last year and you will notice for the most part his plays are quick outs and slants.
