.5 miles away from campus, 1.2 miles from Ben Hill Griffin, really cheap

My guess would be that if you do not have lodging at this time you are sol. If you can find any, just take it and be happy. The area that the motel referred to in this link is in is sketchy, but not unsafe.

For those of you staying in Orlando give yourself plenty of time to get to Gainesville. Normally just over an hour (at the turnpike) to Gainesville from Orlando can turn into 3+hours. I-75 will be a parking lot from the 75/Turnpike junction all the way into Gainesville beginning about 3 hours before kickoff.

Although 75 does get like a parking lot, there are other scenic routes around here that many out of towners do not travel.
