starts talking LSU at 3:05.

brief recap
- talks about how the hires made a lot of sense with what we are trying to do (replicate 2019 as much as possible)
- thinks myles and max both looked good and are neck and neck, though thinks it’s myles’ job to lose. also says he thinks we have one of the best QB rooms in the nation
- proven depth behind boutte might be an issue, but says talent there obviously NOT an issue. mentions kirklin’s nice showing

i think he gave a pretty fair review, as pate usually does, although he didn’t really talk about the defense at all which was pretty surprising. only gripe i have is that immediately after talking about our “unproven depth” at receiver (which is fair), he went on to dick ride bama receivers in their spring game review that haven’t even played any snaps yet. like we didn’t just bring in some absolute studs at receiver ourselves. but whatever, y’all know how that goes.

most of our young freshman receivers were not on the field for the spring game so it makes sense he would not mention them. the guys that played are ones that have been on campus and not been impressive to the point of being legit playmakers like Boutte is

he specifically mentioned multiple freshmen WR’s that didn’t play in bama’s. just found it a little hypocritical that’s all

That was a very uncontroversial take.

I believe the OL did not look as good as we liked because LSU has a defensive line that is on par with bama that gave them fits.

If Ole Miss was winning the SEC and national championships every year there would be an obsession over Ole Miss. LSU fans are not the only fans obsessed with bama...the entire CFB fandom is obsessed, more so for the teams in the SEC West.

Wonder if Josh has changed his mind about Ole Miss beating LSU?
A few weeks back he wasn't very complimentary about the Tigers.
I gave up on Josh after his prediction.

Let me try to explain this to you. The only way we make the SEC title game and the playoffs is if we beat Alabama. That is unless Bama loses two SEC games. Yeah, not likely. That alone justifes the obsession. And the fact that we have lost nine out of the last ten games makes it even more justifiable. So a certain portion of the fan base is going to be obsessed with them. The ones that want to win national championships.

He is a name dropping, self promoting, Hack. I agree that this Auburn loving dipshitt’s opinion is worthless. Can’t stand the guy.

oh, I fully understand all of that.

My issue is the insertion of Bama into so many threads, whether they belong there or not.

Like I said, obsession.

Pate thinks higher of LSU going into 2021 than most talking heads do. I find that when it comes to SEC teams he is usually pretty spot on in his assessments even the ones I don’t agree with like his love for Jimbo and A&M.

It's LSU fans, unless a guy is sucking their nuts, then he's a homer for another team.

Josh is about as neutral as one could get, and from the people saying Auburn homer, people were getting on him last year because they thought he was an UGA homer. At the same time he was hyping up Georgia Tech and Tennessee for recruiting (which it actually was a reason why they were recruiting so good).

Dude doesn't really have some huge bias.

People were jumping on him in 2019 when he was hyping LSU up.

He’s right more often than he’s wrong and I really don’t see how people think he’s biased toward anyone.

Agreed and his show is really great in my opinion. He seems like a fan of college, especially, SEC football that just happened to start a successful podcast. He doesn’t try and act like he is smarter than the average listener.

Outside looking in, can you really blame him for being high on A&M? Recruiting is blowing up, resources are there. Can’t be mad at him for that.

I get why he thinks it I just don’t necessarily agree with it. I am just not a Jimbo fan. I have always thought he was closer to Les Miles than Nick Saban.
