IMO: the real question is what the prognosis is for his body if he plays again.

IMO: He should prepare for life after football.

ACL is damn near useless for the vast majority of professions. He can sell insurance for the rest of his life with his ACL cut in half.

Yes.

he wouldnt be able to do the same because he played one play? (nevermind the fact that he will go pro).

No, he was not injured in any other year. You have to lose 2 or more years to circumstances beyond your control to apply for a 6th year.

It was not a ACL

It was a slight ACL tear, but nothing to the extent that some people are assuming, and certainly not career-ending. Like I stated earlier, I was told that he initially was going to try and play with the injury, but the decision was made that he would be a good candidate for a 6th year and he and LSU were better served if he had the surgery now (West Virginia week) and rehabilitated his knee while applying for the waiver.

Do you guys just make all this stuff up?We are close firends with Josh and his family
It was not a ACL
He is recovering ahead of schedule because he is a great young man who has tremendous work ethic
He is applying for a 6th year at the end of the year and that will be determined by the NCAA He wants another year and CLM wants him back and he will likely be near 100% when done
Normally just read posts here but could not take any more

Thanks for sharing...

I think we are confusing the terms.

A redshirt year is when a student-athlete does not play for reasons within his control.

A hardship waiver can be granted for the following reasons:
I honestly don't know what distinction you're trying to make. It's as if you're playing a game of gotcha. It doesn't matter what the year is called until one starts talking about the 6th year. Don't play at all? Redshirt. Play a bit, then have an injury? med redshirt, waiver, foottub, earwig, whatever. Asking for a 6th year? Different story for a different group.

Trying to keep the terms separate for the rantards. I understand it and it certainly appears you understand what you are talking about.

Now, how do we find out what JD's first year was? LSUsports.net just says "redshirt".

Oh, and it is well-documented that you would like to see T-Bob stay on the bench his entire career, but your talent evaluation skills took a serious hit last night when he was awarded the Unsung Hero award by the coaching staff at the banquet.

wtf? A guy who gets driven into the backfield every play yet still plays 75% of each game because he is besties with Studrawa wins the coaches' pet award and that proves he is good? LOL

Where is that sig quote where you were going to commit suicide if Miles ever won the SEC West again. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

Honestly, you throw alot of hate towards T-Bob, and to a lesser extent, JD. I never have understood it. If there were better lineman on the team, why wouldn't they be playing?

You're really not better than this, man?

I think everyone can agree that he got overmatched on occasion, but he played multiple positions, and by all accounts, makes significant calls at the line, and has assumed a leadership role.

The award is Unsung Hero, right? Didn't say Most Outstanding. I had the good fortune to have a Bench Pass for a crucial game last year, and I can tell you T-Bob took control on the sidelines and on the field in a game winning drive.

I try to give you some credit here, but you're too hell bent on trying to be funny at the expense of real people. Being hypercritical is one thing, but give some credit now and again.

I'm pretty sure Times Pic wrote he led pancake % (not qty) through at least game 7 this year.
Rated #14 out of 87 centers.
