That made zero sense.
The same way LSU "inviting" the NCAA into the meeting makes no sense. There's more to that story, but of course it doesn't help the narrative to think reasonably.

Les, its mind numbing to listen to everyone say LSU is wrong for suspending him
Now thebguy says hell show up April 22.
Instead of coming in and speaking, and supposedly clesring his name and rejoining his team and our schools push for a title, he CHOOSES to hide and hear other testimony before he shows up.
Guy is a fraud, a cheat, and turning his back in his players.
Hes done. And these kids dont see it. Its like watching a bad stock sink in price , the losers stay in till the end thinking it will turn around.

His attorney can attend....he wouldn't be soeaking to a cop, and he isnt under oath.
He simoly has to explain to his employer what the frick he was alluding to on the FBI tapes while UNDER EMPLOYMENT and on the clock perorming job related tasks on university issued phone.
And, btw, uou shouldnt speak to a cop investigating you about a crime. But if you are innocent, theres no harm ( you see a wreck and cop asks you for your statement)
