brilliant analysis. they're both black, right-handed, tall and thin, and have whip-like throwing motions. I agree w/ you ... let's write off Jefferson, he'll never amount to anything, we can tell that now.

For all who think JJ is the answer....you're in the twilight zone. Good Kid....Just not good enough as well as being under-coached. 2010 will not be pretty. more of the same....7-5 or 8-4...Book It!!!!

Well coach, what is your plan? The kid with two years experience in the system and 14-15 starts or someone who hasn't played in a game yet?

Some would rather take their chances with the green white qb rather than Jordan Jefferson.
Should tell you something.
Should tell you something.

for the record, in their first full years of starting (even though Russell had WAY more experience than Jefferson in their prior seasons):
Russell had about 300 more yards passing (JJ missed 1.5 games, Russell missed 1)
Jefferson had 2 more TD's
Jefferson had 2 less INT's
Jefferson had a higher comp %
no way Jefferson can improve like Russell did between year one and year two of real experience. No way.
I love how people don't get that
1) QB's typically aren't very good in their first year of starting in the SEC. Typically.
and
2) QB's typically improve between their first full year of starting to their second. Again, typically.
IMO, JJ showed enough in his first year of starting to think that he'll be better as a junior. He needs to get the ball out quicker b/c he took a lot of sacks and not all were the fault of a crappy OL. I'd also like to see him connect on some more deep balls.

JJ shows more emotion than Lee,Hatch and Fynn combined

+1
he should improve during the offseason.
Hopefully he'll make quicker decisions as he progresses as a qb.
The haters will keep hating though. Sadly.
But what are the other options at this point?
Lee?
Garrett? Nope
shep? I'd love to see him play the perrilloux role ala Flynn and rp in 2007.
But other than that, it's JJ

I haven't read anyone saying JJ will be the hero in 2010. The question is who is more serviceable. In that regard, I am building my hopes around JJ.
I hope nothing but the best for Lee, but he is about as comfortable in the pocket as fresh desserts on the Golden Corral Buffet.
This is not to say JJ is cool under fire, but he is no doubt the best option we have (for the time being).

So you don't think Jefferson is HEAD AND SHOULDERS better than Lee?
the guy threw picks playing as a fricking TRUE FRESHMAN in the SEC.. Ever heard of Payton Manning? Check out his freshman season stats(picks). Saying JJ was a better fit at the time is one thing..saying he is still head and shoulders better is just fricking dense

Else, u are the racist! Tiger fans want a good QB & don't care what color he it! We haven't had one since rp got kicked off the team.

He was a REDSHIRT FRESHMAN. Get your facts straight.
Though I agree that Lee deserves a pass for a freshman year, he clearly did not show any improvement his sophmore year. Jefferson did. In fact, Jefferson showed a ton of improvement while Lee regressed (look at their stats).

At present we don't have one

Then again JJ was playing all year and we don't know what would have happened had Lee gotten the nod. My point is that the people on here saying that JJ is still sooo much better than Lee are going to have their brains explode come the spring game when Lee is throwing bombs right and left(and I mean deep pass completions, not picks lol) and JJ is getting harrassed by blitzing linebackers nc he hangs on to the ball too long.
Of course we will have to wait until the spring game, but I really do think that Lee has more potential than does JJ this season and beyond on a pro level. The only thing I'm worried about with Lee is the "spiders in his head"..he knows if he fricks up he's pretty much second string the rest of his career at LSU. Lee has a much stronger arm, too. Of course some stupid frick is going to throw in a "that's racist" "why do you want the white guy starting" etc etc
don't get me wrong, if JJ is our man at qb then I am 100% behind him. I just think that Lee still may have a say in that. We will see in march. Can't wait!!

People who play the race card are so cool. Maybe one day, in some sacred time, I can have my moment in the limelight and poke fun at my own race to try and make myself not look like a JJ hater.

tell you what dude, your a piece of shite, your nothing more than fricking racist...

there's no basis for slamming Jefferson. He held the ball too long and lacked leadership.
you just did! thats what people are debating, your slamming LEE for throwing picks, kid got benched for it, JJ ran the 112th ranked offense in the country, he hasnt been benched for it. At least lee doesnt feel sorry for himself, pouting when things go wrong, not making excuses, not hiding from the media...kid grew a pair of balls...Were waiting for JJ to do that...I hope he does.....a-hole...
quote:
lacked leadership. That's shite that comes with experience
I know plenty of middle aged people that cant tie there shoes without someone helping them....Leadership doesnt come with experience, it how your born dumbass...otherwise everyone would become a leader....fricking punk....
quote:
Let me guess, you think Mauck was a guy who did all the right things in big games?
that fricker won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, I specifically remember when he ran for 1st downs on hugh 3rd downs, threw TDs' ran for TD's played fairly smart, wasnt afraid....I could give two shits about ANY of his stats...Winning championships arent about fricking numbers Mr. Math wizard, its about Intangibles, not being afraid to make a play in a clutch situation in big games...Those are leaders... frick stick...
quote:
JJ didn't frick up near as bad.

RobbBobb - 112th ranked offense vs 51st ranked offense
watch, EllEshoe will put every single bit of blame on coaching and the O-Line, JJ had nothing to do with it! had three returning lineman with all backs returning! who was the CHANGE!!! JJ!! dip shite...your fricking tool, I but you got your arse beat down in school a lot...frickin punk...

FWIW, I don't have a single post in this thread defending JJ. I'm done with that shite. The kid has to show up this fall..... bottom line.
