You know Lee was the most efficient passer in the SEC through like 8 games in 11'?
Loved Lee but lets be honest. He was a disaster against aggressive hard hitting defenses his entire career at LSU.

And you're ok with not trying anything else after being down 15-0 going into the 4th?
To what purpose? We were still trying to win the game and were going to fight until the end. Why would we throw in the towel just to please a certain portion of the fanbase?
Can we all agree that Lee was a good QB and a fine representative of LSU football as was Jefferson. They were both very good QB's by their senior years and either one would have been an improvement over the QB play we have had the last two years.

Did you even think about this post before you hit submit? How is trying something different when one thing is failing so badly considered throwing in the towel? I think generally sticking with what is going so poorly is considered throwing in the towel more than trying anything you can.

And Jefferson wasn't? He went 5-13 for 53 yards and had 6 carries for -7 yards against Georgia in the SEC champ game. Followed up by the National Champ game debacle.
I'm not hating on either of those two guys, but those people that say Lee shouldn't have seen the field are crazy. You have a roster full of players so that if one doesn't perform you replace him. You don't have to say oh well he's trying his best. Lee may not have and honestly prob wouldn't have done any better, but that doesn't mean stubbornly sticking with failure was the right move.

This is the first I've heard of MLFB. Is that a new league trying to compete with the NFL like others have tried and failed in the past? Or is it arena league football?

They aren't going to try and compete with the NFL. It is going to be a spring football league. Herm Edwards is playing a big role in it.

Anyone thinking a QB with a career passing efficiency of 60 against Alabama and a QB who had weeks before had earned a passing efficiency of 15 against Alabama should have been on the field are crazy!
Hate on Jefferson are you want, but at lease he had success against Alabama. Something Lee never had.

Lee should not have been put in the championship game because he went into a bloated Jim Morrison phase with a full beard after getting replaced by Jefferson. Lots of rumors about girl and school trouble abounded. Couple that with the fact that bama knew exactly how to neutralize the positive aspects of his game and cause him to make mistakes. All eleven positions on offense were taken to the woodshed that game. Focusing on the QB position like it was the only problem is just ridiculous.

But im sure the "Put in Jarrett Lee" faction of the fanbase will not be influenced by the facts.

In alot of ways the 2011 season was the perfect season for the miserable "Put in Jarrett Lee" fans. They kept complaining all year, lsu kept winning, and put up its best regular season in the modern era. The doom the "Put in Jarrett Lee" crowd predicted never materialized until the disaster in the final game. Then those aholes got to be "right" in the end and the best regular season in the modern era will never get the recognition it deserves. So the "Put in Lee" pretty much got to ruin everything for everyone, their greatest joy in life.

If you want to do some good in the world and know one of the "Put in Jarrett Lee" idiots, tomorrow in your work, school, or home environment go directly up to the person and punch them in the face. These people are the dregs of humanity.

Would it hurt to put Lee in at the start of the second half? At least it would have been some effort on the coaches part to spark the team.

When JJ came in against Ga Texh in the bowl game his freshman year... Thought he was gonna be great.

Name a single ncaa championship in which a quarterback was replaced at halftime and led the team to victory. Just one please. It has never happened in the modern era. It is a ridiculous idea. Just completely absurd.

What you have suggested is historically absurd and has never been a successful strategy in the modern history of college football. It is just an awful idea.
