Funny you mention that because I hear JJ compared with Peyton so often!!

Yea, McElroy choked in that game. Considering he was throwing perfect passes to PP7's side and he was always like a inch away making the play. Just showed you how good he was throwing that game. That was PP's worst game of the season and it was mainly because McElroy was throwing perfect passes...
Bama just got beat in that game. Flat out.

I'm not a hater. I really do want JJ to do well this season, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Players do get better. And to most fan bases it is good news.

see I can understand the skepticism and cautious optimism towards JJ but;
he finally has a real QB coach teaching him the fundamentals of the position and seems to be fixing things as evidenced by people who would know about these things.
He is a senior and just about every senior QB(at least in bigger named schools from what I've observed) finds the light or turns it on in their last year and becomes their best. (off the top of my head Dennis Dixon, Jason Campbell, TJ Yates, Jamarcus Russell, Johnathan Crompton, Chris Todd)
Seems to be more vocal these days which means his confidence is on a high.
Already prepping Mett for his starter position in 2012 and is setting up the 7-on-7's for the team through the summer workouts
Doesn't have that good-for-first-year, no-good-producing-college-qb-on-his-resume guy Crowton anymore.
It's a lot of reasons to be excited and it is only one real reason to be cautious and that is because of past performances. I am in the former crowd and thinking he will look good and LEAD us to a great season.

I don't think JJ's issues are his abilities. IMO the kid has all the ability in the world, but he turns into a head case when he plays against 11 defenders.
Should you really be commenting with all-world, overhyped, 3rd best QB in '09 SEC, Brantley as your QB?
We all know that JJ will never be any good because he is "out of place". This is Louisiana and nothing the guy can do will ever get the local rednecks to give the guy any credit. The defense won every one of the eleven wins. His play never contributed nor lead to LSU winning or keeping a game close. The end. Can we move on?

The sad thing is his only backup last year had these exact same issues, but worse.

As natural as a 90+th ranked offense?

We are in some serious need for football.

JJ and Mannings should not be in the same sentence except.....
all 3 Mannings are 500% better than JJ.......
all 3 Mannings are 500% better than JJ.......

Not even close in the smarts department.

. His drops are about as natural as anyone I've ever played with and that includes Kurt Warner, Kerry Collins and Eli (Manning)."
Eli's drop didn't look to natural back in 2003.
