Beard has a base salary of 6 million dollars and a 4.5 million buyout if he leaves. McMahon's salary is less than 3 million. Does LSU have the boosters to foot that bill? Do you think LSU will pay his buyout, pay him what Ole Miss is paying him, plus buyout McMahon and his staff? Pipe dream.
Scott Drew has turned down Louisville and Kentucky in the past. Do you think he's gonna come to LSU? He's contracted to Baylor through the 2029 season with a 4.5 Mil buyout (I think), making 5.4 million. Pipe dream 2.0
Wade is the only one of those three who has any shot of being the next LSU coach, and I'm not really sure how realistic that is
LSU will need to take a shot at another up-and-comer from a mid-major or smaller school.

The longer they put it off the better chance he comes back which would be a disaster for LSU

This would mean more if it wasn't coming from the person who doesn't want to invest in a sport where they have won 2 Championships in 3 years.
