It cost us a chance at a championship.

I was a big Les Miles fan but when he hired and kept that inept Gary Crowton around (he was in Les Miles wedding way back when in some capacity), that was being blinded by friendship.

Cam Cameron was Les's best man at his wedding. The Wizard had no career overlap with Miles prior to being hired as LSU OC in 2007.

Correction: it was Cam Cameron. I had the wrong coach but the backstory is still the same. As far as Gary Crowton that was just a shite hire!

Yeah, Jancek was stepping in as DL coach last season when he was previously an analyst. When it took Pete Jenkins a grand total of like 5 seconds to say LSU's DL was playing too far off the LOS (1 yard), then that told me all I had to know about Jancek's or anyone else's contribution.

Jancek isn’t bad coach. He was supposed to be coaching OLB and ST last year. He never should have been over d-line. I’m happy we have the new staff, but there is no reason to shite on Jancek.

I don't even know the responsibilities of an "analyst" to be honest. I can't speak to his OLB or ST coaching. I will say STs was pretty good this season, so he or somebody did a better job than Polian who was pathetic. Then again, Wiley Coyote would have been an improvement over Polian.

The problem with the DL was there was never any improvement for most of the players. I liked Swinson and thought he was the best LOS rusher. I liked Jefferson who I thought was the best DT. But with Maason Smith clearly not 100% after knee surgery and Wingo not 100% due to the undisclosed injury, the DL was lacking this season. Bottom line: the DL didn't do their job especially on rushing the passer. 11th in the SEC in sacks is unacceptable. And while people blame the secondary for all those 3rd and long conversions, actually I put most of the blame on the DL for their poor results in pressuring the QB.

I agree that Crowton turned out to be a shite hire but 2007 I thought he was really good and then RP gets tossed before 08 which screwed everything up. But yes, in the end more bad than good.

When are the last of you idiots going to realize that the problems on offense were 100% Les dipshit Miles? Numerous OCs ended their career under him. Hell, his best OC, Ensminger, was never allowed to call a play. F Les Miles!

You're right. Les Miles was just a horrible coach which is why he won a NC in one season and went into another NC game undefeated. As far as Ensminger if you actually think he was a good OC, then there is the real problem right there.

These two takes represent the extremes with some valid points buried in the hyperbole.

Miles won one National Championship and had another absolutely stolen from him. With the exception of Mett, I think he absolutely went into a shell offensively post 2008 until he was fired.

Ensminger was the OC for the greatest offense in college football history. Burrow and Brady were obviously massive parts of that, and it’s fine to point that out,
but Ensminger deserves his due. I mean,
Andy Reid was considered a good coach who is now thought of as “great” because of having Mahomes.
