Paterno is not the one who should shoulder the blame here. Sandusky is the criminal and Curley is culpable for the cover-up. Paterno took less than 24 hours to tell Curley what happened. Curley took eight years and a grand jury to say anything further.
I totally disagree with the above........
Paterno felt good that he only reported it and did nothing else before someone else reported it 8 years.....
What was Papa Joe thinking? Yes he was wrong that he did not persue this and get to the bottom of it....no he chose to not do nothing.......yes he is guilty.......in 8 years how many young boys were molested? Joe was wrong for not following this up.....

Do any of the parents of kids molested after Joe Paterno found out, think that Joe is innocent in all of this? I doubt it. In their shoe you think you would think different? If you say yes you are lying. Why anyone would have sympathy for someone covering up a horrible crime like this is beyond me.

Watching the riots at Penn State, it is sad to think how many of those students really can't figure out right from wrong. I begin to worry more about out future.
Living in NJ near PA I get both NY and Philly radio stations. Early in the week the Penn State / Paterno story was the #1 topic in NY but on the Philly stations it was rarely discussed.
I am pretty sure that on the Penn State campus, which is in the middle of nowhere and where all of the radio and tv are in part controlled by the sports program and university, that the students heard quite a bit of pro-Paterno propaganda.
This was a tax payer funded state institution that was used to protect the reputations and bank accounts of a select few. Disgusting.

absolutely will not, see the obvious. That's probably how he's interim. Those making the decisions are refusing to connect all the dots.

@ Mulat: the link - it sounds like the DA was trying to connect dots back then, but something else was in the picture. I wonder if he chose to disappear, or if somebody "disappeared" him? If he chose, why? If he didn't, who?
