Fire the recruiting coordinator then, he’s done a piss poor job over the last few seasons, according to you at least

I'm assuming that you don't understand what a recruiting coordinator does?

How can you rationally think that the Offense will change with the same Coaches, Scheme, & ALA pulling away?

The Beatdown on the Bayou: Part 1 - Same old LSU

The scheme was severely limited by Oline play. I don't understand why people couldn't see that. It's my belief as of now that the anti O crowd actually saw it but would rather ignore the lack of depth and slam the coaches.

The OLine: LSU vs ALA = no contest in the trenches.

If the OLine could just give Burrow 3 more seconds to survey the field, go through progessions, blah, blah, tenches.

The average time a QB has to throw the ball is 2.5 seconds. Anything more than that and Completion % drops off, sack rate goes up, as does % QB hurries. It is a constant with the variable becoming faster, not slower. "Build a wall" will not work.

This Trend information was through 2015 and things have gotten faster.

Well, better players is a start. But, saying "LSU will never beat Bama as long as O is the head coach" is dumb. Pigs have flown before and they could again. I never even said it was likely, just that it isn't impossible. That's dumb.

Ok, it's not impossible, but it's unlikely, damn unlikely.

Thank you, SEC Grapevine, for providing that information. These Orgeron apologists, however, refuse to accept it. They don't even try to comprehend what you're laying out for them. If these bafoons would simply watch the 4 playoff teams operate OFFENSIVEly, they could begin to see the light. Hell, though, even Orgeron and Ensminger are too stubborn to change the APPROACH on offense. They don't get it or don't want to get it or both.

Here is a checklist of what it takes to win the SEC done in 2016. Today that checklist still applies. However, LSU is falling off Offensively & Defensively, ranked lower than the last 4 yrs. While Fisher is Ranked 18th Offensively, something LSU did not do with Mett, last time was 2011.

While at the same time LSU is surrounded by 4 SEC Coaches from the 2000-2005 Saban Staff. Most notably Fisher. He took over a weak Roster Offensively and finished 2nd in the West. He had the #2 Rushing Def in the FBS.

Orgeron inherited the best Roster he will ever have and did no better, actually worse than the 2015 team. Miles firing in 2016 after 4 games with two losses to the only 2 teams ranked higher than ALA. Orgeron lost to FLA, unranked FLA.

I think you twisted that from "LSU will not beat ALA as long as Saban is at ALA"...your prop-O-ganda is showing.

My propaganda.. That's funny. I just forgot exactly what was said. The point still remains that saying never is dumb.

Eta: When you say "my propaganda" are you saying that I'm a O hater or apogolgist? I get confused being called both so often.

Without Austin Thomas flipping 2 5 stars the 2017 Class would not have been ranked in the Top 20.

quote:

In the five seasons Thomas spent on LSU’s staff, the Tigers have finished with the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class (2014), No. 5 class (2015), No. 2 class (2016), No. 7 class and currently have the No. 13 class for the 2018 cycle with the first signing period quickly approaching.

quote:

For the 2017 recruiting cycle, 247Sports named Thomas the nation’s 10th best individual recruiter. Pretty remarkable considering he’s not even on staff at LSU as a coach. Every other member of the individual top 25 recruiters list is an assistant or head coach. That lofty ranking came after Thomas led the charge in LSU landing two five-star prospects from Tennessee — defensive back JaCoby Steven and linebacker Jacob Phillips. In an unusual move, LSU took defensive line coach Pete Jenkins off the road this time last year and replaced him with Thomas. The move obviously paid off for the Tigers with two crucial signatures. How did LSU land the two prospects everyone in the nation wanted, including flipping Phillips’ Oklahoma commitment at the final hour? “All Austin,” Orgeron said to James Bewers of The Advocate. “He got Jacob Phillips. I knew (Austin) was going to be good, but those results are phenomenal. I didn’t know we were going to get those results. “Very rare to get two five-star recruits to come to LSU your first go around (at off-campus recruiting).” His aspirations apparently don’t stop at the college game, either. According to those who know him best in the profession, Thomas will one day be running an NFL franchise. “Austin I believe one day will be an NFL General Manager,” Orgeron said to Barton Simmons of 247Sports. “He’s very talented. He’s the general manager. I trust him in all aspects. He can have the keys to the car. I trust him in everything that he does.”

I don't think of any of your commentary that way. I've enjoyed reading all your posts. I've interpreted your overall feeling as hopeful. And the fact is I've been right there with you from the time we signed Burrow until the game at A&M. That's the night I flipped. I had decided to mostly "let go" of the Florida game, but that a&m 3 straight runs and a cloud of dust did me in. And I realize we've all learned to never say never, but goodness gracious I just can't see Orgeron and Ensminger ever competing with Saban. If Orgeron would change his mentality and get a brilliant O.C. I'd have some hope.

I meant I fricked up by not going back to read exactly what you said. I thought you said as long as O was here and I was mistaken obviously.

How and why the great expectations:

He was last in the SEC and 118th in the FBS. He did not throw 1 TD from the end of Sept until the 10th of November.

8 of his 12 passes were against unranked or FCS opponents.

6 games without a TD Pass when Tua averaged 2/first half.

His other 4 were 2 in Reg vs A&M and 2 in OT.

It'll be interesting to see who stays in place longer, Orgeron or Saban. Orgeron's like 11 to 13 years younger I think, but that may not matter.
