I keep wondering if Brady knows he's on all these shortlists...

IMO, you'd love to see Coach O fail. I would not.

LSU is about to pay him a lot of money to stick around.
The last big "don't sweat it" narrative was that the Board of Supervisors would approve Brady's new contract at their next meeting,

That meeting was yesterday - not on the agenda which is public record.

I certainly never subscribed to that narrative. I do have faith in O and Woodward that they'll lock him up in due time. You need to chill out.

Another great year at LSU and he can punch his ticket anywhere.

Exactly. LSU lights it up with a different qb next year and Brady is getting P5 offers.

I love all these made up "short lists" that come out around this time of year

The media runs with anything these days, it's sad. And then even the "searches" themselves will throw 80% ridiculous names out there that are "hot" but they know they dont have a chance with.

if you actually looked into this, UNLV HC made $600K in 2019. Why would this be anything more than interview practice?

I think there are too many people that cannot handle being a winner. Teams give you their best every week. Programs want to take your coaches, and emulate what you do. This is the price of being amongst the best. Get used to it, or pick a crappy team to "follow".

Passing coordinator to HC would be a risky move for UNLV.

What does UNLV have to lose?

The only thing good about Joe Burrow not coming back to LSU next year is that hopefully we'll never have to see you post again.

Again, Mark Anderson is the lead beat writer for UNLV athletics. Likely knows more about the inner workings of the ADs office than anyone other than the AD

More football games.

I think Brady is smart enough to understand that it's beneficial to him for the longevity of his career to stick around and learn valuable lessons on recruitment, staff management, etc before going after a small HC job.

Get paid
Get promoted
Learn
Get better opportunities down the road.

Read the post. The significance is that he is being considered as an HC... not just an OC.

Seriously doubt Brady will take an interview. But have you ever looked at elite HC's first jobs? Usually pretty grim.

And Anderson is reporting that UNLV will offer $900,000

Coach O is only 30th on the list of highest paid NCAA coaches, LSU can certainly afford to pay Brady what he rightfully deserves. These boosters have deep pockets and after a season like this (regardless of if we win the natty, which we will) they will make it happen. However, if the offense next year is even 80% as good as this years was, it will be almost impossible to out bid the P5 schools that will come calling for him for HC positions. Just thrilled that Coach O was able to find this gem before anyone else did.

Let's be clear about what exactly the Coaching Changes Board is all about.......entertainment.

This time of year has nothing to do with actual interest, or interviews. It has everything to do with rumors, and agents telling stories...most of the time to get their clients more money at their present jobs.

Bottom line is that you need to get used to this. As long as LSU is in this position, this will continue to happen. Relax and enjoy being the wanted.
