Incorrect. One of the advantages to running rpo’s is that your tackles aren’t asked to pass block in the same way. Ball comes out quicker and linemen fire off the ball as though it is a run play.

Quality OT’s are a necessity for a drop back/traditional passing game. LSU’s offense last year asked our current OT to do the thing they were worst at too often imo.

Spot on

This is what Ben and others don't understand

Asking them to do exactly what they struggled with and going max protect plays more into the defense. Defense can pin ears back and bracket your 1-2 receivers.

Almost everyone of those quick passes required a wr to block downfield for the one catching the ball...

Do me a favor and find some clips of our wrs doing a great job of blocking downfield....see if you can find any for the Bama game....

Our wrs need to bulk up some...and learn how to pass block...

Lets wait and see if it is used, and if it is used, is it effective. Then we will know for certain if firing Miles was worth the buy out.

We already have that answer, and it is a resounding “Yes”. Les ball had become painful to watch. Orgeron’s season last year was better than any Les season in about 5 years.

I’m not saying Orgeron is the answer, but neither was I convinced Jimbo was. I’m very excited about this year, and I’m optimistic about the future based on recruiting.

If your tackles can't pass block it doesn't matter what scheme you attempt to use.

This is unpopular but true. The line will be much better this year simply because they are more experienced. The scheme can be improved just by being more multiple. Also, with the kind of elite skill players LSU gets ground-and-pound is not our best option.

Agree.. our issue the last two or three years has been that our line of scrimmage players got beat so bad that no scheme mattered.

Zone blocking does make you vulnerable to very athletic and attacking d lineman.

Me too because those 2 definitely did not understand that concept. Hugh Freeze had shown them. Dabo had demonstrated it. Bigtime college football playoffs Clyde the Orangatan could see it.....duh. Apparently Joe Brady has shown them UP CLOSE. That's what was needed!
