When will you morons realize that Alleva had his best moment in the Miles saga? He had Fisher signed and sealed and F. King Alexander cut his legs out from under him. It was all set up to be Alleva's shining achievement, and the clueless university president shut it down because the soon to be governor didn't want LSU to spend that kind of money.

I am convinced that the #1 thing the dolts on this board hate Alleva for is that LSU doesn't play enough home night games. Combine that with the fact that he has no prior ties to LSU, and the cooyons out here want him publicly executed.

The athletic department is making more money than ever before-Alleva's number one job- and he had a great coach set up to take over our football program.

His worst moves have been Nikki Caldwell and Johnny Jones, but he had an ace in the hole with Fisher taken out of his hands by F King.

you dont know this for sure....you're speculating! Alleva should have never been hired in the first place after the Duke debacle. Only at LSU.

All the bullshite "grades" notwithstanding, Alleva oversaw the massive project of Tiger Stadium expansion, got it built well, on time, and within budget.

A plus.

Alleva is going nowhere.

Deal with it and live with it.

Nobody will dispute that there have been a couple of frick-ups by Alleva along the way. But the people who think that the ONLY thing he does all day is sit on the internet and monitor the wins and losses of his coaches are dumb and delusional. He is in charge of a massive department that makes a hell of a lot of money. He gets credit for that. He is in charge of a lot of projects that have been VERY successful...the stadium expansion, facilities for basketball, gymnastics, and tennis. So for my money, from the "business" end of it, the dude has done a damned good job. But nobody wants to hear that.

Fast times I assure you it was an AD only fiasco. KING simply stepped in to avoid further imploding and embarrassment

Alleva deserves props for the upgrades in facilities. Seems like every sport got a new toy in recent years. I even give Alleva props for his handling of coaches. I think Miles was gone, but the president stepped in. Trent Johnson was a great hire at the time. COY in two conferences. Took 2 programs on runs thru the NCAAs. Recruited and turned out NBA players at both programs. Who wouldnt go for a coach with those credentials right now? Nikki Caldwell turned UCLA into a winner in 3-4 years there & was COY. She had played & coached in the SEC at UT. You make that hire. The hire you don't make is a .500 coach after 10+ years in the Sunbelt.

Half the people on this board think that Alleva's only job is to hire and fire coaches. They have zero clue what an AD does and what he is responsible for. The op proves the point considering his only grades talk about how he handles coaches.

So what's he done well outside of coaching changes?

Name one good thing that Joe Alleva has done good for LSU except replace some old fricking windows. Please enlighten us with his accomplishments that we are so uninformed about.

This is entirely too overplayed. Should he have proactively done something to avoid that shitshow? Probably. But he made it clear from the beginning that his policy was always no firings until the end of a season.

In general this is a good policy but all situations are fluid and should be handled as such. That whole situation went off the rails so fast especially the week between Ole Miss and Texas A&M he made a huge mistake by waiting so long to address it IMO. Like him or not Miles deserved to be treated better. Not to mention the way LSU was dragged through the mud in the media.

To me this is hard to pin on Alleva. Caldwell did pretty well at UCLA and this is the first time in her five years here the team didn't make the tournament. Caldwell was a pretty good hire. Fargas not so much.

I hope your not serious with this.

That 30 for 30 on Duke Lacrosse reminded me that Alleva was also responsible for that debacle.
