What are u talking about the long ball threat. JJ has a better and stronger arm than Lee did you not see him throw the deep ball in the bowl game

Lee is very talented noone can deny that and it just drives me crazy when the haters say "he cant read defenses and did not progress". He played a part of a season and in their eyes he is doomed because he did not become great in that small amount of time.
Probably because he constantly got worse not better. He couldn't look off a receiver to save his life.

I don't think he really got worse...I think several things happened...1) other coaches figured out the specific problems he had and coached accordingly, 2) our coaches didn't really respond to that and 3) he started thinking way too much as the season went along. It was clear about 3/4's of the way through the season that his problems weren't going to be fixed until the off-season. Whether he can fix them remains to be seen, but they aren't problems that can't be fixed. He has shown enough ability for me to believe he can be a very good QB if these issues are overcome.

He can progress into a good qb his mobility is the only big question mark. JJ can make plays with his feet. They both can be very good but JJ does have the total package for the SEC. I hope they push each other like Flynn and Russell.

Also don't forget that once Hatch went down so did Lee's performance. While I do think that Jefferson will be the starter I would expect to see both qbs get playing time. I think the two sophomore quarterbacks will make each other better.

Just an idea but our defense this last season was horrible against defending the pass in the secondary. Miles always talked about how well he did in practice and look who he was throwing against. I think this could be a reason why he made so many mistakes because of how well he threw against our defense in practice. Then again I could be completely wrong and he doesn't know how to look off receivers. I will say this after watching JJ in the bowl game I think we are pretty much covered in offense for the next few years.

Easy to look good in practice when you don't have the fear of being hit.
Lee has looked great in PRACTICE the past two springs now...
He has a fear of contact...

for the 849th time...there were no reports of him looking great last spring. There were a lot of folks shitting bricks and hoping that the RP problem would be resolved.

No really, jarrett lee was in the lead for the job after rp left.
Remember, rp never got one snap in spring.
JL always looked good in practice, but he had back pains and didn't get to practice that much in the fall, and the coaches had to go with hatch.

"being in the lead" and "looking great" really have very little in common.

Is it true that JL threw a pick 6 in the scrimmage?
Posted on 4/4/09 at 1:23 pm to lsu xman
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It is much too early--let's look at all of them in the spring game April 18. Lee has to prove he can do it & avoid throwing the pick 6's in game situations!
