The clip they played on ESPN did make him sound like it's all about him even though they left out some comments. His wording wasn't the best.
I am glad he's pushing for the starting job though and not sitting back doing nothing.

You do realize that these JJ quotes came from an interview right? JJ didn't call a press conference to announce all of this information. Media asked questions, and he answered them to the best of his ability.
I don't think people defending JJ want him to be the starter either. With the way Lee is playing, I know I don't. But he is an excellent resource to have. And as crazy as this sounds, some of us are actually just trying to support a player on our team, and defend him when he gets misquoted.
It's quite simple really. SUPPORT YOUR PLAYERS, SUPPORT YOUR COACHES, SUPPORT YOUR TEAM, and ENJOY FOOTBALL WHILE ITS HERE!

No problem with the statement as I read it as an individual wanting to compete for a starting position - just like what is on every college players mind ( and pee wee and HS and Pro). Again, he is young and folks are hanging on every word. Let him compete and let CLM coach and lets cheer for Lsu to crush Fla!
