I like JL's game. His footwork looked better. Without half those drops, he throws for 150 yards. If JJ had these stats I'd say the same thing. In fact, JJ suffered from a lot of drops last year. I don't like the two QB thing so, that's my bias.
I don't get it. These guys are blue chippers. Why so many drops?

Remove all names, history, and context.
QB throws 10 for 22, 98 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 97.8 passer rating.
Would this strike you as something laudable?
Problem is you can't remove the context. Miles developed a game plan to counter an explosive offense. He had no guarantee that the D would absolutely shut down Oregon. He was not going to scrap the plan at halftime and open the offense. There was no need.

Oregon's db's were just as fast as our receivers

All around I saw great improvement on offense.

The backup is always better. FACT.

I didn't, and I wanted to.
See how that works.

I agree
Didn't talk to one single lsu fan for the 3 days I was in dallas that was upset about jj not playing.

JJ's ability to run for a decisive first down or two in a game makes him a better overall QB than Lee IMO.
LSU doesn't need a running QB when the RB's are popping 100 per game x2

The one who is less likely to turn it over to you is JJ? After last year, and game 1 of this year? Lol
seriously
are these people delusional?
I guess they are... JJ was a turnover machine last year

take the blinders off broseph
lee put a ton of touch on the ball last night
the over the shoulder toss, the TD pass to randle, the bomb to OBD33...
point is, on most of his throws, he was actually stepping into them, and stepping up in the pocket.
if you don't think that's improvement over the last three years, I don't know what to tell you.
the receivers were garbage last night, and if JJ would have been in the game i' d have said the same thing.

I watched the game. I didn't see it. So don't say anyone.
Quit being a Debbie Downer...we ran the ball as we wanted, didn't need a big passing game. Take away that questionable holding call & JL has close to 150 yards passing; not to mention some drops that were just inexcusable. Sure, JL needs to improve, but if JJ had played, who knows what might have happened? Maybe this time, JJ would have been the one throwing the pick 6...

For me to say "improvement" over the last three years after a single game, it would have to be a better game than any other played over the last three years. That's simply not the case. We had more prolific QB performances against better defenses when our own D wasn't as dominant.
If we see a pattern of improvement to the extent that our offensive production rises into middling ranks (50-60), then I will say that I saw improvement.
How was that game an improvement over A&M, Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, or UNC?

What surprises me more is that Mett did not get 1 series to get his feet wet when they were up by 20.
Go for the kill in big games.

Not trying to be a downer, just trying to bring some perspective. But I enjoyed the game and the win, and will be talking major shite in the office on Tuesday.

As for Lee's game, he didn't look super-accurate to me. Seemed like a lot of balls were slightly behind the receivers, or just a little off. That's ok, he still did enough to win, and I expect him to settle in as he gets more time as the starter. But he wasn't great by any stretch

Something he's been doing since 2008.

We've seen these passes from him before.

On the completions. On the "drops" he threw off his back foot a lot which led to very uncatchable balls.

You mean you can't come up with something of substance to counter with.

There were maybe 3 passes that were clear drops and that is totally on the receivers. The rest were bad throws that the receivers got their hands on but the blame goes to both the receiver and the qb.
Look, I support Lee (whoever is the QB) and hope he continues to improve but what we saw last night was not a huge improvement. It looked like he was trying to play within himself which is an improvement from the last few years of "gun-slinging" mentality and forcing throws with his arm (which he stilled did some). But for some of you to think that this was some great improvement or that if JJ had these numbers the rant wouldn't be having a mini-meltdown right now you are delusional.
I still think that we will see improvement from the qb position throughout the year and I look forward to winning a NC. I beLEEve.

RUNNING GAME NOW OPENED UP DUE TO VERTICAL PASSING THREAT. BIG DIFFERENCE FROM LAST YEAR. BIG DIFFERENCE.
