The running game opened up the passing game. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, peej.

We didn't look confused on offense, that's enough of improvement there

LSU doesn't need a running QB when the RB's are popping 100 per game x2

That's true. But we won't be playing Ore's defense in the SEC.

I guess they are... JJ was a turnover machine last year

Jefferson had 11 ints in 13 games last year. Not that good, but hardly a "turnover machine." And I was comparing him to what I think Lee might do if he played a whole year. Your post doesn't change that opinion.

First of all, it was pretty obvious that Lee was not allowed to pass the ball much. From the get go Les' intention was to win this game on the ground and only let Lee pass when necessary. It's as if Les was paranoid to let him loose. It seems as if Les is more comfortable with JJ for some reason. Then of course the receivers need to learn to catch.

JJ doesn't throw the ball downfield much and he is not very good at it. That's why Lee came in to save his butt last year a few times. If anybody thinks JJ can make that throw to D Peterson they are lying to themselves.

we need these young receivers to step up their game. Lee would have completed 75% of his passes had not been for the drops. I would like to see Landry more involved

Still has ypa, in spite of some of the big numbers Lee put up in 08. And his touchdown hookup with RR during the Bama game last year was a thing of beauty. Just saying.

Stats don't always tell the full story...Lee was very solid last night.

3-4 drops, a 30 yard pass called back. Pass interference in the endzone to set up 1st and goal...basically Lee/Randle's td.

Real impact on the game all things considered probably around 150-170 yards and 2 td's. No picks, a few really pretty passes...i'll take it.

With Lee at least we have a legitimate threat on the deep ball. That will keep the safeties honest and hopefully keep 8 out of the box. we will see.

Ridley was such a stud last year and made coach's first team all-sec because they knew he got over a 1000 yards against 8or more in the box.
