As a Saints fan watching the two games yesterday I can sympathize with the Ohio State fans. Wouldda, couldda shouldda. Just like the Saints (this year) they have only themselves to blame for not taking care of their business on the field.

Our D was the best D in the playoffs.

I agree with this. I was high on our defense all year long. But Lawrence missed open receivers in the championship game. They weren't wide open, but the throws were there if Lawrence could have executed.

LSU was not getting beat by anybody this year.

OSU can cry all they want, but LSU would have buttfricked them all the same.

Worst part is LSU would have beat them by 2 or 3 TD’s
We beat the team that beat them by 17

about how LSU’s program will inevitably drop off while Ohio State has staying power.

While I disagree that LSU will drop off, Ohio State does have more staying power only because they play in the weak Big 10. Not hard to make the playoff when you only have to win 1 or 2 big games every year.

Ohio State has staying power.

Not with Ryan Day as head coach.

OSU will just by default. They have the best recruiting advantage among the elite programs. Their main competition for recruits in the entire Northeast and Midwest are Michigan, ND, and Penn State.

Except for their national championship in 2014, all of the other since 2005 have been won by schools in the southeast: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, FSU, and Clemson. All of those schools have to fight each other for recruits each year. And that does not even include Georgia, Texas, A&M, OU, etc.

I think everyone that’s not an LSU fan is thinking we’ll drop off with Burrow, Brady and Aranda leaving. Up to O to make the right hires and prove them wrong

This is the theme of the off-season

Actually, by 24. We kneeled on the 1 yard line with what would’ve been a sure TD.

Actually... we missed a field goal too.
Could have been 27

Ohio State has consistently been a national power They have not had a serious drop off recently.

Yes the SEC West is tougher than the Big Ten usually a lot tougher.

LSU would have beaten Ohio State worse than Clemson.. especially with Fields hurt.

IMO Ohio State is generally better than Oklahoma. but Oklahoma has been very good.

Whatever. Ohio State has far more resources than LSU academically and athletically.

It is amazing what LSU does compared to many of the other top national programs.

The Saints would not have beaten the 49ers out in San Jose.

Lawrence missed throws because we pressured him. More than he has seen all year.

For the most part his receivers did not get college open. Meaning a couple of steps. Yes he did miss 4 or 5 open guys. We did make him accelerate his clock and get rid of the ball faster and less comfortably.

Bottom line Bama was a good bit better than Clemson. Maybe Georgia and Florida were better.
