Francis is a tough mofo playing quarterback. Ole Piss laid some shots on him during that game.
Oh to witness an LSU offensive play call...."Brandon Harris takes snap, zone read to right side, fake to Leonard, steps back hits Dupre down seam in stride...Touchdown Tigers!!!"

Flynn threw for 2400 under Crowton.

This. Flynn threw like 20 passes while jimbo was here. But I do agree he probably learned how to throw for those 2400 yards while jimbo was here.

Miles doesn't believe in that nonsense. Just line up and play smash mouth football is the only way.

Did anyone see episode 1 of "A Season With" Florida State Football on Showtime? It was really good and one thing in particular that I took notice of was Jimbo's weekly QB test that he gives to each QB on the roster. It has questions around the defense they're facing that week(best player to watch for, coverages in certain situations, etc). It's of no surprise why Deandre Francois performed well against Ole Miss in his first start. It's the things like this that we know Miles isn't doing with LSU that separate good teams from great teams. You can't be a national contender on talent alone in college football. It's all apart of the process that real coaches understand. It's about being as prepared as you can be. Something that LSU doesn't do that is a direct reflection of their head coach Les Miles.

Agree with everything with one exception. We are not a good team.

Are you on the team? How do you know this?

Why did they finish with a less productive offense than lsu last year? While playing in the worst p5 conf on the planet.

It would be very enlightening to see what our QBs get in the way of mentoring, coaching, and game prep in the course of a game week

Lost a lot from NC team minus DC. Les starts winning Natty's, he'll even SECW again I think fan base gives him a little slack.

The fact we had Zach Mettenberger, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill and even needed a defense should tell anyone with a brain how inept we are on offense.

Holy shite. You have got to be kidding. I atleast hope you are. We lost games in 2013 with 40 point offensive outputs .

Every one of these guys was a total stud QB by the time they left Jimbo's tutelage.

Don't forget that the system that they played in set them up to have success.

lost to ole miss 27-24

lost to bama 38-17

lost to georgia 44-41.

Ole miss had a ton of guys suspended for that game including nkemdiche

I think Brandon Harris has plenty of tests. instructions, training, etc, etc, etc. in fact, he has probably been "over coached". his head has been swimming.

imo, it's time to just let him play. get the play in early, let him survey the D and decide whether or not to audible out of it or not, and go with it.
let his intelligence and experience be his guide.

he needs to take the next step. and that is learning by doing and living with the results. if he picks up a bad habit, then the coaches can make the correction.

my thoughts are that he will excel.

there is NO SUCH THING AS PERFECTION; the good must outweigh the bad and I think it will.

we can win the next 2 games even while he' learning to walk on his own and it will pay huge dividends going forward. that is if the OL doesn't get him killed first.

Completely agree. Let him call plays as well. That will end this nightmare on Saturday.

Alabama fans can crow all they want about Jalen Hurts but what Jimbo did with Deondre Francois was down right amazing and spectacular.

can't get over how well francois developed in that game

he went from brandon harris to jameis winston in a matter of a half.

Jimbo spoke with him on the sideline after every possession in the first half, to get things in order. It really was a thing of beauty what he did for that kid in that game.

Our coaching staff had an entire off-season and still whiffed.

Francois still had more yards in that first half than Harris had all game.

Wouldn't you be too? Kid was poised and has a lot of upside along being a true freshman playing on the big stage.
