That’s irony for you.
TAMU going all out on a NC winning coach = stupid gamble
Us hiring a career loser when we could’ve had any number of coaches = let’s just wait and see what happens
purdy much

Or they are just both equally stupid approaches

Can you link Jimbos contract details?

It’s 10 years 75 million.

So what? Make the offer. Make him say no.
If LSU loses a bidding war with Texas, does LSU really come out looking bad?
Or if LSU gets too scared to even engage them in a bidding war does that look worse?

No shite. Looking for his buyout. Guy is citing his FSU buyout i believe

They’re not equally stupid.
I would’ve cringed at the thought of hiring any coach for 10 years, but they can afford him and he’s a good coach. I’ll never fault a program for doing everything possible to win, and that’s what A&M did.
There was a point in time where LSU had that level of commitment to excellence.

So they are in essence conceding that they are wasting 22.5 million paying him for the first 3 years while Saban is still around?
Not sure how you invented this narrative for yourself. They certainly aren't recruiting like they're conceding anything.
In the end, why care about the contract A&M gave Jimbo? They could afford it and they were happy to do it. At least they can say they got their guy, for better or worse.
Frankly, I think it's hilarious for any of our fans to criticize somebody else's coaching decisions after the shitshow our admins dragged our program through.

Actually, it speaks volumes about our budget Vs aTm...

Can I not talk shite about both?
Committing 75 million dollars to pretty much anyone other than Saban and Meyer is foolish , and given sabans age and meyers uh...health problems , I’d be wary of giving them two that much guaranteed money as well.
And yes, I’m keenly aware it is not my money, please spare me.
But it’s the precedent you set.
One poster said LSU used to be committed to excellence...LSU was the first school to break 1M to an up and coming Saban. Let aTm be the ones to break new ground overpaying a guy on the wrong side of 50 who hasn’t won a division title since 2014.

10 years guaranteed? You'd have run Aleva out already had he done such a thing as that.
Face it - Aggieland has more $ to spin the wheel with than LSU.

They did what they had to do to get the best coach they could. Have to respect that. They have the deep pockets to eat a buyout if they have to.
That fan base cannot be critical of the decision makers. They did their part. That’s why the ADs that do everything they can have jobs as long as they want, because they can always say they did everything they could. Alleva cant say that.

what does this have to do with anything? alleva and the boosters wanted jimbo and jimbo wanted lsu. it was a done deal until f king stepped in over the money
F King and Jindal shut it down because of the perception. If Joe keeps his mouth shut and keeps his business in the building then the could have done exactly what Georgia did and landed Jimbo.
Here’s the thing- Good AD’s get the job done. Alleva has continually failed.
