Rome never takes the ESPN script and regurgitate it back. He usually calls it like it is. Hes a douche when he bashes but he always gives props where they are due. I guess he's the anti Robert Smith.

Funny, when I read "Shock the World" I was thinking that he must be predicting that we will win 35-20 or something... IF #1 UNDEFEATED LSU THAT ALREADY BEAT ALABAMA WINS 20-17, IT WILL SHOCK THE WORLD?!?! WTF?!

It sounded just like that when I heard him deliver this on the air this morning. I haven't listened to him in years since he is a die-hard Cali-honk and his callers sound like WWE wrestlers, but it was pretty cool to hear him lather us up for a good 10 minutes like he did today.
Sadly, this is as good as it gets for LSU/SEC love here on the west coast.

While I definitely don't agree with everything that "Van Smack" says, I do think that he follows his own philosophy and owns his takes. The Jungle is not for everyone, but there's also no other show like it. Like him or not, if he's giving the Tigers love, then LSU fans will give him props. War LSU over Bama on Monday night and keeping the tradition of kicking some entitled Gump arse. I'm out!

His radio show is $. Jim Rome is great. Everybody clowns that Chris Evert shite, but his takes are so good on the radio. Tells it like it is. Plus, I think he's dead on with his LSU pick. He's not following the national media sheep that blindly love the nictator. Watch LSU games. LSU is one of the best teams that ever played. Offense, defense, special teams for 60 minutes.

Jim Rome's radio show is excellent. He and his listeners are very entertaining and knowledgable. He knows what he is talking about. He does lean heavily on the West Coast stories, but he is not like all the standard fare that you see in the fish wrap (newspaper) industry. He goes to his own beat. Mad props to him for recognizing LSU as the best team in the country.
War salespeople, softball guy, likes to fight guy, the left turn league, MMA and the #1 team in the country - LSU Tigers.

This. West coast slan, which is out of my range, but he's a great interviewer on the radio show.
