College football is flukey. I remember a few years ago when USC's march to the title game was derailed by UCLA. Also, remember that they lost one year to a heavily underdog Stanford team.
A lot of things can happen between the opening game and the end of the season. All these predictions are WAY too premature, at this point.

USU recruits are higher rated most years. How many NC's has the PC and LK era won? If the sports media wants to shift there fawning back to USC from Saban, so what?

In 06, 07, 08 they finished in the top 4. In 09 they were ranked in the top 4 early and fell off. The last 2 years they were not ranked very high to start and got comparatively little hype. Looks like they get hype when they are good surprisingly.

Bold would be to say USC has the best starting 22 in the nation, but to say "by far the best" 22 is just silly.

This is not going to happen the schedule is way too tough.
As far as USC the hype is warranted, the combo of Barkley to Lee and Woods will be lethal. Their problem will be depth on the defensive side of the ball and at tailback. They will look to flat out outscore their opponents and most they will IMO.
