Did he say anything about being our Wide Receivers coach?

ED REED

Exactly. Not while Ed Reed is making players. PP will never be a Revis shut down CB, so the best he can hope for is being very good at coverage, and an Ed Reed style play maker if you make the slightest mistake. But, while Ed Reed is still making plays on defense, I don't see how you can put PP ahead of him.

(Also still think PP's ideal position is a safety ball hawk like Reed.)

PP7 is in the mix as one of the best defensive player right now. There are a few quality players that do need to be mentioned. Polamalu, Reed, Revis and lewis. PP has only 2 years under his belt right now. In time He will be the GOAT on D.

No he's not.
He wasn't good at all in week 1, and he was an average CB, at best, last year.

That's great and all, I love peterson, but Jerry Rice seems borderline retarded to me.

Dude cannot speak or string thoughts together to save his life. Greatest receiver of all time but an absolutely terrible analyst.

And Ware and Willis are in a league of their own imo.

From being Revis level shutdown? He will never have the hips Revis has, just because of PPs size. His man to man coverage instincts aren't great either. But he makes up for it with tenacity, athleticism, and ball skills. Ideally as a WR it is easier to get a guy like PP off your hip than a guy like Revis.

Jerry Rice also specified to include his punt and kick return abilities with his play at CB.

Not sure how this factors in to his defensive play. Peterson even admitted he needed to get better as a cover corner.

I'm not a big fan of Rice's analysis, so I'm not going to label him a genius cuz he fluffed an ex Tiger
