True but it's fricked up.

Yeah, it sucks when our star players break laws and get suspended. They shouldn't be held accountable for their actions if they can help LSU win.

Obviously didnt read 52 pages... but Chase Pittman beat the frick out of my best friend when we were freshman. Literally punted his face. Nothing could be done on my friend's account and Chase continued to play. I am best family friends with Hill's lawyer, also ate lunch with Hillar Moore today. Things will be as best they can. Our boys need to start acting right though

Bring that to the OT. Pretty sure that todays lunch thread is anchored, though.

That you interpreted that particular sentence that way is truly ridiculous.

But the names of Art Cantrelle and Brad Davis come to mind. Both of these LSU running backs were cited several times during their careers in the early 1970s for fighting in bars. Cantrelle even relished beating up Baton Rouge cops sent to take him in.

I guess the difference is that 40+ years ago, we didn't have the internet, Twitter, Facebook, smart phones (or cell phones for that matter), ESPN, FSN, CNN, and 100s of sports channels across the country to report any incidents

Were these rare incidents in the past or are we just better at exposing the the off the field behavior of our athletes?

I'm not sure if they even did drug testing back then.

You may not be a kid at 18, but you're nowhere near a mature adult, either.

Wasn't Shep suspended at the start of '11? Can't recall why.

No, it was an eligibility issue with NCAA paperwork over his grades or credits (as I recall). They (the NCAA) sat on their arse and it didn't clear until a couple of weeks into the season.

thought it had to do with his scholarship money and his paying for his apartment, his girlfriend being in the athletic department working or something along those lines.
I know he missed the oregon game.

Shep's issue was talking to teammates about the active investigation into his living situation

I'm sure it's been touched on but does Hill have any lingering legal issues over his stuff from high school? Probation or such..
