True, which is more of a reason for Miles to put the reigns on him speaking about it. Or anything for a while.

why? Is the opinion of a whole bunch of retards gonna affect the game?

I get that., but the media and tens of thousands of fans who judge werent there. All they hear is what they are told, none of which has done JJ any favors.

So, here is JJs first chance to speak. people like humility. Insisting youre good when your not isnt going to win anyone over. Neither is insisting youve done nothing wrong when you have.

Is goal should havce been to win in the court of public opinion. He did himself no favors tonight.

What do you want him to say: "I'm sorry fans that I'm not worth a crap and I am totally responsible for all of the bad things that may ever happen to LSU football and I hope that you will forgive me, but never let me play again. "
Geeeeze
There was no way in Hell that for some of you Jefferson could have said anything that would lessen your animosity toward him. You want an execution and nothing less will be enough.

Have a good night. I'm outta this snake pit for the night.

And what evidence/factual basis supports this assertion? In fact, the team would likely be less unifed with more dissent were he not on the team with an opportunity to play. Everything I have seen reported indicates he was welcomed back by his teammates. All this he will "split the team" is bogus insofar as there is any evidence.

that's not true at all.

jefferson hasn't accepted blame for much of anything in his time at LSU

it's never his fault. both on or off the field.

Josh Johns was CLEARED by the grand jury. Jordan Jefferson was not. Josh Johns has not entered into a game yet, Jordan Jefferson has. Josh Johns hasn't had a single player on this team write his # on their arm during the first 4 games of the year. Josh Johns isn't telling the media that he should be the starter on this team. Jordan Jefferson is on the verge of splitting up the team chemistry, Josh Johns is not.

Jefferson was charged with a misdemeanor, not the felony that some want to continue to pin on him. Players/team mates/friends writing his number on their arms really fricked with our first 4 games before his return, huh? And Jefferson saying his goal is to work back to being the starter is something you would usually LOVE to hear from a player, except everyone is letting their fear of the possibility of a team rift get in the way of seeing that.

Nothing is ever JJs fault, after all a 2 of 26 attempts and 35 rushing yards is him "playing well"

I think there are just some butt hurt posters in this thread.

Let me preface by saying my own opinion on JJ as starter over the past 2 seasons is that Lee should have gotten more time. JJ was erratic and inconsistent to put it mildly. He has however played well at some times like the A&M game.

Now to the presser, first of all, anyone who thinks he was gonna stroll in and say he did it and apologize for it is just not paying attention.

JJ, and all of his lawyers from Fisher to his current team have maintained his innocence. He remains under indictment for a misdemeanor (as well as the threat of a civil suit) and I am absolutely certain he was advised not talk about the specifics of the case nor make anything that could be construed as an apology.

Specifically to what he did say, come on, we have all watched JJ talk over the years and quite frankly it seems more often than not that English is not his first language. He just is not comfortable in that setting and I do not believe he has ever been able to express his thoughts in a "press" savvy way.

Additionally you know he had to be more nervous this time than any other time he has spoken to the press.

Anyway, the kid took responsibility, said he missed the game and his teammates, was happy to be back and believes he can help the team win and wished that no one else would have to go through what he has.

Did he do it smoothly and with media savvy? No he did not. But again when has he ever?

All in all he did fine.

Remember regardless of what you think of JJ is that the Grand Jury has already found that the BRPD at the very least over charged him and he had a 4 game suspension for a misdemeanor charge for a bar fight that he still claims he did not participate in.

That is a rather severe punishment.

Finally Lee is our starter and I believe will remain our starter unless injured and JJ will play the role basically Lee did last season and will help us win games, an SEC Championship, and a BCS Championship.

He can come in and help us and we will need every weapon, every bullet to that and JJ is one of many.

completely and totally untrue. I would have been extremely impressed had he offered a public apology to the coaches and team for bringing negative attention to the team and school, regardless of the level of his involvement. That would have been a tremedous sign of humility and respect.

I think we need JJ to win it all this year, just prob not as the starter, but I could be wrong, he does have flashes of greatness, just not consistent enough, would love to see Jim under Krags with all the I vested time, but dude got arrested and charged.
