Jefferson, Chase and Marshall

How good is this trio?
Jefferson and Marshall both make their route running look so effortless. These guys are very disciplined route runners who create such great separation on their cuts. They are both so smooth, they could switch jerseys and I could not tell them apart. Burrow played great, no doubt, but credit the receivers for getting open and giving Joe some easy throws mixed in.
Chase I can tell apart from the other two. While he also is a great route runner, he seems to be the more physical of the three, particularly on jump balls. He is like a bigger Jarvis Landry.
Wide receiver is easily the deepest position on this team. There are literally a half dozen receivers on the bench who could start for other teams and who might even be in the NFL one day. Our starting three could go down and you would have the likes of McMath, Dillon, Palmer, Lee, Kirkland and Jenkins waiting in the wings.
With Randle, Chark, Henderson, Landry, Beckham, Clayton and many others in the NFL, LSU could soon be wru.
Next year LSU loads up again with receivers. Having three receivers go over 100yds receiving in the same game has got to help recruiting.
Whats really amazing is how many good receivers chose to come to LSU when we barely threw the ball at all.

All 3 of them would be number 1 receivers on most other teams
lol

They are the best LSU WR trio of all time, but unfortunately, I don't believe it is the most talented corps in the SEC right now.
Time will tell. WE COMIN

How do you know they are disciplined route runners. We throw around this kind of talk, but we have no idea. The only way I could tell is if the coaches said so.

They’re good but the best trio may be reserved for Bowe, Davis, and Doucet.

It's the one part of this LSU team that is difficult to over hype imo.
I honestly don't know if I would trade them for Alabama's receivers right now.

Jefferson was the #2400+ player in the country. Only got a scholarship because of his family.
He’s showing how good he is and how bad the gurus were off

I would not because LSU has more size at receiver than Bama

For now...
But these 3 can catch em

Agreed but that was two first rounders and a third rounder. And their numbers could’ve been a lot different if not for three yards and a cloud of dust.

It's a tough call between our guys and Bama's. They're different styles of receiver. The group at Bama are all around 6'0-6'1 and have blazing speed. LSU's trio are the more prototypical NFL size.
I think their guys have more "big play" potential simply based on speed like the underneath routes the run to Juedy or burning a DB on deep routes. Then our guys have the ability to use their size to high point a ball like we saw Jefferson and Chase do on Saturday. I'll say I wish we had a Juedy type speed guy to really give us an all around compliment of threats....wouldn't DJ Chark be a great weapon to pair with the other 3?

they are on pace to obliterate that trio’s numbers from ‘06.
Bowe, Davis, Doucet:
2,598 yds ; 24 TDs
Jefferson , Marshall , Chase:
through 2 games - 572 yds ; 9 TDs
Projections
12 game pace (reg season)- 3,432 yds ; 54 TDs
13 games (bowl) - 3,718 yds ; 58 TDs
14 games (sec cg & semi) - 4,004 yds ; 63 TDs
15 games (sec cg, semi & nc) - 4,290 yds ; 67 TDs
obviously going to be tough to keep up this ridiculous pace, but just showing how far ahead they are at this point in the season.

Marshall looks like he could play in the nfl today.

Is this true?
I thought his offers were limited because too many thought he wouldn’t qualify academically???
I seem to remember him being spoken of very highly at camps
