Nabers and BTJ are top receivers when they have a QB who can get them the ball on time and on target.

Nabors has to run the right routes, and run them well. He didn't do either.

And the way he just sat there after the interception he caused instead of bouncing up and pursuing, I'd bench him for that.

He is not a top receiver.

They can't think in those terms.

All problems are the qb.

Of course not all of the problems are the QB. But even I can see that JD still struggles to throw downfield. It’s hard for a receiver to win a jump ball when it’s under thrown or or a line drive directly at the defenders back with no loft.

Or maybe our receivers aren't as good as we thought they were and it appears that JD is late because he's waiting for ppl to get open. Route Running is an issue for this team just like it was for UGA when our WR coach was there. Our receivers can run away from ppl but they can't create space at the top of the route. And they struggle with finding the ball after they come out of a break. Look at the plays where JD held the ball to long. No one was open. The only plays where we had guys running wide open down the field were the scheme plays where there was misdirection or miscommunication by the defense. None of our receivers beat anyone last night.

JD sure locked on to Nabors a lot last night. Lacy dropped one pass at least but why not use Taylor more? BTJ didn’t get many targets either. At least not when the game mattered. JD forced several balls to Nabors which is really concerning. One thing Nuss will do is spread the ball around and get it out quick. With the way OL blocked your QB has to be good with his pre reads.

We’ll win 9 games with JD this year which isn’t terrible but we will have to score a lot of points with this secondary and lack of pass rush.

JD is playing the role of a stabilizer getting us through the transition years after Ed O

This is last years excuse, we shouldve seen an improvement on with JD but it looked just like last years JD.
-too timid to throw timing route
-drops eyes when pressure comes and looks to run
-there was a great replay when JD got sacked. It had 3 WRs on screen and they bothe looked back at JD at the same time. Instead JD looks down at the pressure and tries to roll out. He couldve hit the WRs if he had not waited.
He is till timid and doesnt make the quick decision on timed routes
