Simply not ready for pounding in NFL. Needs to put on a little weight, for starters.

There was a strong contingent of anti JR posters, many more than there should have been. Others view him as probably the 2nd best QB in LSU history. JJ wasn’t even close to being revered.

On the other hand, Rohan and Herb are almost universally beloved.

He should improve and I will be pulling for him or whoever the starter is. The better term is, he better improve if he is the starter next year. The level of his play has to improve markedly for LSU to vie for the national championship next year. Like, put the team on his back like Burrow did to win one. I still think LSU will be a couple years away because there is going to be a lot of new, young faces on defense next year.

The real question is …what would it take for Brian Kelly to bench him

I'm not going to sit there and let you say he isn't a good QB when he is.
Just not for this type of team. When your best position group is WR JD is not a good fit.

I’ve never met a JRuss critic and have never seen him bashed on the Rant outside of Purple Stuff jokes. The Lee vs JJ threads speak for themselves.

No not excellent news. Kid has progressed all he will ever be. Inconsistent against teams of equal or better talent.
By not giving the reins to our younger qb’s …. LSU will be another 2 years from being champions. Prove me wrong

He also thought Garrett Dellinger was the center we had available…then we learned he wasn’t

Matt Flyn was a better qb than Marcus Russell. Russell’s short throws were so damn hard nobody could catch them. His accuracy was nothing to brag about

Sure OK. I predict some really pissed-off elite receivers next season.

Apparently the mindset has been erased because nobody argues that anymore. Anybody who did at the time is a moron.

You stats guys just have no concept about what good offensive football really is.
do any of you realize that the end of the year, that teams (arky, a&m, ga) all showed the blueprint on how to stop our anemic offense. A broken down pass play that a scrambling qb breaks open for big yardage is no way to play offensive football. Those teams figured out how to stop him and more of the same next year LSU will not win 8 games and all of you brain dead football geeks are going to be bitching like crazy that our offense sucks. Anybody with even a sliver of what good offensive football knows what we saw this past year cannot last. It is just too predictable. So have fun boys, bitch away at everyone that actually knows something about offensive football. I'm done trying to explain why today's news about JD is awful news about LSU's future...production and recruiting. You'll see!
