Jayden’s bad outing was early Friday afternoon..just saying...it wasn’t a normal situation

So he shouldn’t pitch in a regional or sec tourney game if it’s a day game?
Better hope the Cubs don’t draft him.

I think scoring 3 runs against sorry teams is the problem.

Based on exit velocities, we were hitting the shite out of the ball. Sometimes they don’t find holes.

Would like to see Jaden miss more bats

The ability to do so is obviously there

He was throwing all 4 of his pitches in any count, too. Looked like he even had 2 speeds for his slider. He was wild at times (just looked off and tired) against Oral Roberts but he was also mainly throwing 4 seamers trying blow it by them. Yes, I know, he doesn't call pitches. Just my observation.

His 4 seamer was up to 98. His 2 seamer was running alot. Changeup danced all over the place. He threw some sliders at 90, and some in the low to mid 80s. That's Friday night stuff. A 4 seamer in the mid to upper 90s with occasional sweeping slider and changeup is not Friday night stuff.

Nola never had a bad outing on a Friday night either.
I don't remember if it was a Friday night but I do remember the regional game Nola started where he gave up 5 runs and threw over 40 pitches in the FIRST INNING. He ended up throwing over 110 pitches in the game.

The opposing hitters were barrelling up almost every pitch which caused our infielders to make 3 errors in that one inning. Alex Bregman made 2 of them.

Fans around me in the stands were screaming at Mainieri to take Nola out.

As I recall Nola was undefeated at that point in season as a starter with a record of 10-0 going into the game.

The Tigers' bats saved him and LSU ended up winning the game and Nola was the winning pitcher moving his W-L record to 11-0.

I think that was the same game where Chris Cotton tied the LSU career record for saves.
