Our hitting, pitching, SEC wins, and overall wins were up. We didn’t make it as far because the team last year got hot in regional play. We improved in 90% of the areas you can compare besides fielding %

If this years team had either Marceaux or Labas. We host a super at the very least.

If they had both they’re playing Oklahoma tonight instead of Ole Miss.

That’s how close we are.

Just keep pulling Pitchers, Skipper. Three or four more legit starters - with incoming freshmen - should be good for a Boot wide hardon!

A 2 1/2 game record improvement and not getting as far in the post season isn’t “greatly improved”. I’m sorry but that standard would not hold water anywhere but on this specific board with certain posters.

We also had an ace last year. Our offensive numbers and team era along with every other pitching statistic were improved. We won 4 more games in conference which is absolutely a difference. We were looking for improvements in the team from a holistic standpoint, not just where you finish in year 1.

Yes not having Marceaux was a key difference but I’m not bashing just saying that “greatly improved” is inaccurate. For example if we go 7-6 in football this season, win 4 conf games and lose the bowl game would you consider that greatly improved?

BK goes 6 - 6 then wins the Indy Bowl and it will be an "improvement".

It depends on how we lose those games. Do we have decent QB play? Does our OL look better? Are we not getting lost on defense? Are the players buying in? There’s context to everything. Our football program had no buy in. Kids didn’t even want to suit up last year. If we have kids playing very hard and you can see the process working but the results aren’t there in year 1, then yes, I would say it’s an improvement.

He will be measured by how many national championships he brings to LSU. Not how many great individual players he brings in. The expectations that Skip set aren’t really fair to the guys that come after him but those are still the expectations.
