the people that protest the taking down of Confederate Soldiers are supporting American traitors that actually killed American soldiers
Hey dumbass, The people you're talking about were members of the CSA. Confederate States of America The union wasn't the only American soldiers. So using your argument you could say the same about the union.

the flag and anthem mean different things to different people
The flag represents the fallen! The anthem also is a tribute to those who fought for us. I'm all for free speech and don't give a shite about their political views but certain lines are not meant to be crossed . It's the ultimate disrespect! What exactly are they against of the anthem? I haven't heard one solution from these POS. Obama started this shite and basically reunited the black panthers. They say they are tired of the injustice towards blacks but refuse to bring up the topic about black on black crime. You people need to pull your heads out your arse. While we are on the subject, all the other "protest" going on around the nation are not protest. Once you start damaging property and hurting people, it's a riot and not a protest any longer!

I give up.
Y'all aren't really interested in history, just your dogmatic assumptions.

This it's what is wrong with America
You: I disagree here, Rick.
The issues were the same. Taxation without representation.
And the Unionists knew it. That's why they didn't execute the southern leaders for treason. Their own forefathers had fought the Brits over essentially the same thing.
If you read their writings, you will see they saw the entire thing as a great tragedy, and wanted reconciliation with their southern brethren.
Smarty Pants: Rabble Rabble Rabble Yaw Yaw Yaw
Common sense has no place here

The Union Army or Federal Army was the land force that fought for the Union during the American Civil War, 1861 to 1865.It included the permanent regular army of the United States, which was augmented by massive numbers of temporary units consisting of volunteers as well as conscripts.

no the frick it cant. no one in the union army took up arms against the UNITED STATES and the UNITED STATES MILITARY.

to you.

confederate statues represent people that tookup arms against the flag youre upset about.

who sets this subjective line?

no its not.
actually taking up arms against the UNITED STATES is the far worse than peacefully protesting for 1.5 minutes.

sigh....
they literally bring it up constantly.
there have been dozens of gatherings in the black community to try to make a change. just because you dont hear about it doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

agreed. but the protest youre uo in arms about now is peaceful.

What I have been trying to show you is the United States was technically formed by very the same act of "treason" that you accuse the Confederate army of. So, you know, glass houses and stuff.

the continental army fought England because no taxation without representation.
has nothing to do with the civil war.
they were fighting for us independence
Posted on 9/24/17 at 10:14 pm to Rickdaddy4188
Did you even read my posts?
The South was fighting for independence from the north in EXACTLY the same way the Continentals were fighting for independence from Britain, and for the same reasons.
It was NOT a civil war. That would be if the south was fighting for control of the entire country, which would be the same as if the continentals were fighting to control Britain.

bullshite.
it was about states rights and the biggest states right issue was slavery.
the confederacy was formed under the idea that blacks were inferior.
he is the qoute from the Vice President of the confederacy Alexander Stephens...
quote:
Our new government is founded upon exactly this idea; its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery -- subordination to the superior race -- is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.

no they didnt. the South had representation in the US.

what? most union people didnt agree with Lincoln's stance on reconciliation.

fricking hypocrite.
supports traiters that killed Amercian soldiers. gets pissed off by a 1 minute peaceful protest.

I read their actual writings, instead of the history books written by the statists who wanted to (and succeeded in) making the north look right.
If you think this was over slavery, I'll post you an Abraham Lincoln quote:
"I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races. There is physical difference between the two which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position."
Oh, and the emancipation proclamation didn't free slaves in the north, only the south.
The actions by the north to free southern slaves were nothing more than a successful attempt to break the economic back of the south.
It WAS about the exact same statist moves by the union against the south that the Brits had previously imposed on the continentals.

I wouldn't expect someone of your caliber to understand that some lines are not to be crossed regardless if it's your right. I guess it's a country boy thing for not being a literal prick just because you can.

Regardless of your last quote, the South was against paying outrageous taxes and just as the colonies were against Britain. Also they had all the major industries and crops that were needed along with the controlling the Mississippi river. Guess you don't think outside if your text books.
