Lee won't get a fair shake. Plain and simple. He struggled his first year based on rookie mistakes and horribly predictable playcalling/bad QB coaching.

Last year, people point to the end of Bama and La Tech games. In one he was cold and behind by two scores with like 4 minutes left or something.

In the La Tech game, the whole team played like shite, yet he is the one criticized too all high hell. He was off, but the whole team was demoralized and Miles did a shitty job as usual (like Troy St in 2008) of getting the team back focused. No excuse for the whole team to play that shitty, yet all the blame goes to Lee.

In the end, hopefully he's matured and is ready to play. If he is, he deserves a fair shot, although he won't get that from fans.

ill put all my money on JJ IF we have more consistent pushes up front and a better run game.

no matter i still have to say until i see something different i think JJ is the man for the job not knocking lee but as was stated in the La Tech game he didnt show anything at all.

and as far as was stated abotu the 3 good run plays then passing that happened all year when we were doing somthign that worked the so called wizard would change it and do somethign totally opposite

As for his Pick 6 in the Spring Game, PP will intercept a lot passes from good QB's this year.

His Pick 6 in the Spring Game was to Craig Loston, not PP. Otherwise I agree...

To be fair to Lee this is supposed to be the first year to see the field.

The people here that bash Lee are just oblivious to the fact that JJ has done NOTHING special to be called a SEC caliber starter. They both have a few high points in different areas, but neither has proven to be real good. That why I don't give a shite who starts, just as long as they have improved and can move the ball. To call JL damaged goods is stupid. I know of a pro QB that threw 29 picks his rookie year, and is pretty good now.

your right both QB's were basically thrown into the unknown before they had any time to get familiar with much

I am a Tiger fan first and foremost and I wish both QB's great success this year, but I am very thankful that we still have JL and that he did not transfer.

Add me to this list. I can see a situation where JJ is injured, and Lee does not have to worry about being yanked, and really has a breakthrough.
I'm not wishing bad things for JJ, but I am glad that JL is still a Tiger. The fact that he is, says a lot to me.

Your telling me that Jefferson looked confident in the pocket last year. He holds on to the ball way too long.

Let's get back to your comment about Lee - "As I watched him play last year (limited as it was), he showed some maturity and looked much more confident in the pocket than his counter part."

Define "maturity" if you will... And he looked more confident in the pocket than his counter part?

Look, JJ was definitely not always confident looking in the pocket. There is no doubt about that. Sometimes with good reason, sometimes without good reason.

But get real. Since you mentioned that he looked more mature and more confident in his little playing time, I have to bring up Tech again. He was 7-22 for 105 yards with an intentional grounding sack. Do you hear yourself? He couldn't have looked like he had less confidence. He had a total of 94 net yards on offense. That was the lowest amount of the year for LSU from a starting QB and it was against a cupcake.

I thought he looked better against Bama. I thought when he first got in he looked like he had a little confidence. But then it seemed to disappear.

Quite a few people on here forget that he was redshirted behind Flynn, perriloux, and Hatch. Kid went from redshirt freshman to starter in about 8 months.

That's not true. It's a luxury that some teams have sometimes. It's becoming less and less with QBs leaving early (sometimes people that shouldn't even leave..Jevan Snead, etc.).

You're given a scholarship and you never know when you will be called upon. It could happen at any time.

With that said, he was put into a real tough situation and a lot of guys would struggle in that position. At least he had a redshirt year, some guys don't even get that. But I didn't expect anything out of him that first year. I was really disappointed in the La Tech game though.

I have to say that in looking at all of the avaiable film

Does that film include the Alabama and Tech games of 2009?

6 of the worst offensive quarters for LSU that I can remember.

That's a shot at JL, but he deserves it.

We all want the QBs to do well, but I'm very thankful we have JJ.

No, actually the whole team didn't play bad. The o-line was doing okay in run blocking for once. Keiland was gouching Tech's defense. The main culprit behind our poor play that game was Crowton, who kept calling pass plays when Keiland was playing well. And, most of Lee's yards came on one play where Lafell took a slant route to the house for a TD. Crowton deserves most of the blame for that pitiful game, and Lee did not play well enough to show us anything. The offense was decidingly better with a banged up Jefferson vs Ole Miss and Arkansas

The La. Tech game was bad. But so was the play calling. They never called easy passes to get him some confidence.

I agree that it was one of the worst coached games I've seen in regards to play calling with the way Lee was struggling. They kept throwing long passes on a few drives and although the guys were wide open, it was clear that he wasn't coming close to hitting them. Yet, the coaches kept passing it and wouldn't run it until they basically had to or we were gonna possibly lose.

KW had a really good game though. But I will say that Lee struggled with the easy passes as well in that one. But continuing to air it out after a few tries that weren't close was stupid on all levels. That made it worse and it wasn't Lee's fault.
