Meh if you mean by career then yes both qbs have put up average stats
This year, however, both have been in the upper echelon of qbs in the country

Agreed. Both have had bad moments, but every QB ever on every level has had those moments. These two QB's are light years ahead of where they were last year.
Whether JL gets to play significant snaps in the next two games or not, he's cemented his legacy. He's completely redeemed for 08, and was a vital part of LSU's first 12-0 start.

That is why i don't believe that he is having problems with his classes.

hole. e. shite.
Wilson, Bray, and Murray aren't even in the "upper echelon" of college QBs and Lee and JJ are probably a notch below these guys.

I can dig that. It's the same reason I refuse to believe JJ just kicked some dude in the head out of nowhere. Completely out of character for both guys.

i think the offensive philosphy is what makes em average and stunts their development. look at what bama does to hide their qb and give him confidence through the year, wr screens, hb screens, a lot of outlet passes to TEs and rbs. they expect playmakers on the perimeter to make plays, not the qb until they have to.
and sorry to tell you all, it'll be the same next year with mett. i think his talent level is greater so itll look more like JR then the last couple years though.

I don't think so. If he can prove he can sling it without making mistakes they'll let him throw it similar to Russell and to a lesser extent Flynn.

It was quite sad actually
I'm not sure why it's quite sad. As for me, I have a ton of respect for Jarret Lee because of the way the last 4 years have gone. He became the starting qb at LSU during his redshirt freshman year. That year was full of ups and downs, of which Lee faced the media with class after both good and bad performances, and by the last game of the year Lee was replaced as the starter with another freshman qb. In the next season, Lee got hardly any playing time at all. He did get one forgettable start due to injury. Despite the fact that he was almost certainly going to be only a back-up, Lee stuck with LSU. During his junior year, the starting qb struggled mightily for several straight games. Finally Lee was called in to replace the struggling starter, and Lee was very successful and helped LSU to a couple of comeback victories, and Lee also outperformed the starter during a "cupcake" game. Yet, Lee never regained the starting postion. Once the starter started playing better, Lee's role went from a "dual quarterback", to a true backup. In the bowl game, in Lee's home state, LSU wins comfortably, yet Jarret Lee, despite his key role in the season's success, only gets one snap to take a knee. Once again, Lee does not transfer, and stays at LSU. During his senior year, just a few days before the season opener vs a top 5 opponent, Jarret Lee becomes the starter when the other quarterback gets suspended. Jarret Lee helps to lead the Tigers to an 8-0 record in his time as the starting qb. Even with a poor performance at Alabama, and his subsequent removal as the starting qb, Jarret Lee has never caused any waves amongst his teammates and has been the ultimate team player throughout his career at LSU.
I don't see anything wrong with the LSU fans showing him their appreciation with applause.

i think it'll look a lot like the 06 offense. very plain basic offense in the begging, unless we find that we need to open it up more.
dont forget, we lost that aub game in 06 by a pure refusal to trust JR to throw the football until the 4th quarter.

we dont beat miss st or wv without him.
and he's thrown a td pass in all but 2 games this year. bama he only played 11 snaps, and last week he didn't even throw a pass, i dont think. that's a far cry from JJ not throwing one from week 2 to week 9 last year. still, wrs are more consistant this year.

I've always been a big JL fan based on his character. Not so much of a JJ fan based solely on his inconsistent play.
This year I'm a fan of both--JJ gets a pass in my book on a bad decision like all college kids sometimes make, and has done overall a great job at QB. JL has been a rock through the first games and had a rough go of it at Bama--again, solid.
I cheered for both as loud as I could. I thought the fan reaction for both was supportive. Glad these two guys have largely ignored the stupidity on the Rant and hung with the team. Props to them both.
