quote:

"It was a big decision," Martin said. "Guys are very eager to go play in the league and that's a great experience. But I felt like I have some things to improve in before going off to the next level."

"I don't feel like my game is complete or where it needs to be to get to [the NBA]," Martin said. "I need to improve on some things before I just go on to the next level."

No offense to either guy, but what in the hell makes them think that they are ready to go to the NBA at this point?

That's great news. Hopefully Mickey stays. It's really too early for him to go.

Personally, there are a lot of good opportunities across the globe to make 6 figures for each of those two guys. Whether that's in the NBA or overseas, if they feel desperate for money or realize you can only play so long, you can leave the amateur game and play for a paycheck.

Alot of times these guys realize they won't make the NBA right out of school, but they can still make good money in a European league and work fulltime on basketball rather than school.

Mickey needs to stay also.

It would be silly for either to leave right now unless they have a strong desire to play overseas.

JOB didn't come out and say he is gone either. Said he would weigh options.

I was most worried about Martin. I know his situation wasn't as good as Mickey's.

Would be very surprised if he stayed, but would love it if he did.

I was the same way. I know Martin will be quick on the trigger to help ease some family burdens. I think he is making the proper long term, responsible decision, but it can be hard to realize at first.

Good news. I hope Mickey stays. If he can develop a more refined offensive game and learn to play better on ball defense, he would be legit. He reminds me of Anthony Davis (who btw had 40 and 20 last night)
